We made it back to Charlottesville and stopped at Monticello. Early to bed so we can leave early tomorrow for the big trip home.

almost time to go!

Our last day of work before we start the two day trip home tomorrow. Not a lot got finished, but we made a lot of progress. A very uneven floor now has level joists, a roof is well on its way towards totally being replaced, and many smaller projects involving demolition, clean up, and a little more building have been done. We knocked off a little bit early so we could go the the Dam Swimming Hole on Douglas Lake. We will miss “Tennessee Dave”, our supervisor, but he did come to the lake with us to relax. This has been an amazing experience. We have met some wonderful people and done a lot of hard work. Thank you to everyone who has supported us!

Today’s tasks included attaching the now level floor to the house, tearing down a ceiling, and putting down sub flooring. Oh, and more roof work of course. Today also included a cheesecake break from Chelsea who is one of the overall project managers and a nice relaxing lunch break courtesy of Dave, our site manager, at the Bean Trees Cafe.
