Lucado grew up Church of Christ — a tradition that doesn’t believe in tongues. Spent his whole life and ministry career not speaking in tongues, wasn’t even really open to it.

Then at 64, he came across 1 Corinthians 14 where Paul says “eagerly desire the spiritual gifts.” He took it literally and prayed that prayer every morning for two or three weeks. One morning it just happened — he started praying in tongues spontaneously, unprompted, didn’t do anything different that day.

Isaiah 53 says Jesus bore our “griefs” and carried our “sorrows” — words that include sickness, affliction, and physical suffering. If Jesus carried it, you don’t have to. ⁠

President Trump has declared his intent to rededicate America to God during this 250th anniversary year of its founding. He made the announcement during the National Prayer Breakfast this morning.

That sacred dedication will take place through a prayer ceremony held on the National Mall on May 17th.

"We're inviting Americans from all across the country to come together on our National Mall to pray, to give thanks and... we are going to rededicate America as one nation under God," Trump said.
