My name is Stephen Moody and I am 51 years old. Months ago I was invited to the Cotulla Church of Christ to preach some Sundays after their preacher retired. I have been married since June of 2012 after a scriptural divorce in 2005. I have two girls from this marriage. I have been doing the fill in thing for a few years going to Uvalde, Hondo, San Antonio as well as teaching enhanced biblical studies classes a few times at Northern Oaks Church of Christ in San Antonio. Why do I just fill in you might wonder; I have a full-time career for the past 20 years as a San Antonio Firefighter who is now teaching at a training academy. I have a different spin on preaching than most others as I lived a rough sinful life for over a decade until this lost sheep returned to the flock in September of 2007. I have two steadfast rules that I adhere to

2nd Timothy 3:16
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,”

Revelations 22 (18-19)
For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

You will never hear me condemn something that cannot be found in scripture, the bible gives us all the answers and I will not utilize the words of someone else as if it is scripture. Most Sundays I am there you will find me talking about my own failures as a Christian and how I found my way through them. I promise you will never sit in the pew and think the man before you is perfect and has never really lived life. Until the day I die just like you I will be fighting to be right with God.

At present my normal schedule in Cotulla is the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month plus any Sundays when someone else can not undertake the preaching duties. I truly hope you grace us with your presence so I can meet you and you can meet this group of loving Christians who have done so much to make us feel at home.

Today in children’s bible class the kids learned about Day 4 of creation! 🌎 God made the sun, the moon, and alllllll the stars! ✨ They also learned that God didn’t just make each and every star special but that he made each and every one of them special too! 🥰
