HEALTH UPDATE on JASON Morris of the Couriers

- As you may know, our former tenor, Jason had to have his foot / lower leg amputated in December due to complications of diabetes. He'd been doing well and had just started using his prosthetic device when he developed a pressure wound that continued to deepen and become inflamed. He was hospitalized again last week with severe infection in the leg, and it was initially thought that they would have to do an additional surgery to remove more of the leg. In the interim, he was placed on multiple antibiotics, and a wound vac was placed on his leg in an attempt to get the leg to heal.

Fortunately, the combination of antibiotics and the wound vac were working, and he was scheduled to go home with a portable wound vac unit and 3x/week visits from Home Health.

UN-fortunately, on Tuesday Jason had an episode where he 'coded.' They were able to revive him, but they moved him to a different location (step-down unit) where they could monitor him more closely. I'm not sure the cause of the 'code' is completely known... whether it was low blood sugar, low blood pressure, a seizure, or something else. Additionally, test results came back indicating that he has MRSA--a notoriously difficult infection to fight. Needless to say, Jason, is still in the hospital.

PRAY that doctors will be able to get the infection under control; that they would know the cause of the 'code'; that Jason would regain strength and continue to get his BP and Sugar under control. Pray that he would not become discouraged.
