SPAGHETTI FUNDRAISER

This weekend we went on HTC’s youth fall retreat. Therefore we had a fundraiser to raise money to enable every student to come to the retreat!

The team helped buying the food we need for the fundraiser, cooked, served and cleaned up! It was nice to see how engaged the students from the youth group were in the event! It was a great success!

We always love if we can help and that we can get to know the students and members of the church during these events!

With this post we wanted to share our work in schools that we are doing at the moment.

The first few pictures show our bible study at a local college. We were able to partner up with someone from Intervarsity to lead and create a new bible study there! We meet up every Thursday from 11 AM to 2 PM to read the bible, play games, pray and eat together as well as have fellowship! Every week 5-7 people show up and some of them are coming to our young adults group at Harbor Trinity Church! This week Maria led the bible study and did an awesome job!

We are so happy to already impact students‘ lives and anwsering questions about faith!

The last three pictures show the team during an outreach at another high school nearby! We helped The Whosoevers and Decision Point with an outreach during lunch break! Maria, Raphael and Anna gave out pizza and flyers as well as helped to clean up after the event! It was wonderful to see how an event like this can look like and to be part of this!

We hope to expanse our work in school in the next weeks and months!

BECAUSE YOU‘RE LOVED

This week we did a because-you‘re-loved event for the teachers of the preschool next to our church. We wanted to show them how much we appreciate their work and their influence on childrens‘ lives, especially by spreading God‘s word and His love! Additionally, we could get to know the teachers and their work a little bit more as well as introduce us to them! It was awesome and the teachers felt valued!

We served breakfast, which included donuts, fruits, coffee and gave them a rose with an appreciation card! We are happy to be able to physically show our appreciation!

We love one another because Jesus loved us first!

Even though Halloween season is almost over, we wanted to share our costumes and experience on our first American Halloween!

We had two halloween hangouts two weeks ago: one with our youth group and the second one with our young adults group!

We had a fun time playing games with the youth, eating pumpkin pie, carving pumpkins as well as having a costume contest! We even won the contest with our group costume as hydro flasks!

We love our schools!

We started yesterday morning with a prayer walk around one of our local high schools. We prayed over the school staff, teachers, principal as well as the students and their parents. Prayer is powerful and we were able to make a difference!

We also had the chance to lead our first together in our bible club at this school! We played some fun games and ate pizza during lunch break!

In this way we got to know the students a little bit better and to introduce us again to everyone! We are so happy to be able to be a part of the bible club at this school and to engage with the students!

We are happy to be a part of this on Mondays regularly!

SWAP

“Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.” - John 14:19

From October 31st to November 5th we went to Arlington, Texas to have our Swap Conference! All North America teams met up and swapped ideas, visions and experience during this week.

We were also able to heat from speakers on topic such as discipleship, evangelism and bible study! It was such a blast to meet everyone again and to learn from each other as well as to encourage one another and share new ways to minister!

We had so much fun worshipping, playing games, praying and learning together at Swap! We are looking forward to our next Conference next year and miss every North America team already!

Nevertheless, we are happy to be back in California and to put what we learned into practice!

CITY ON A HILL

We started our Thursday morning with a conference. Church leaders from Costa Mesa and the cities around met at the Crossing Church to connect and exchange with each other.

This conference takes place every year and wants to inspire the leaders to enlighten others by being an example. Furthermore, they are called to work for unity and peace in their city and to serve their city as well as build relationships.

We are happy to be able to be a part of this conference and to meet so many great people who are working for God’s Kingdom!

We learned how important it is to effectively and physically show God’s love for people and to work together to lift up a city!

We want to encourage all of you to see it as a challenge to pray for and over your city, because prayer is so powerful!

GENERATION WE

Yesterday our youth’s series “Generation We” ended after four weeks. In the last weeks youth invited all generations of the church to be part of Wednesday nights for the month of October.

Because God is an intergenerational God and has something in store no matter their age! He is speaking to every generation and is a God of every generation.

We had the opportunity to be part of this in very different ways. Raphael was able to lead the games and hype up the people in the room, while Maria was in the media booth and managed lyrics, announcements and music. Anna was responsible for posting about the events as well as walking around with a camera to capture moments. We are so blessed to be part of Harbor Trinity Church and help to bring Generation We to success!

We are so proud of one of our students who was preaching yesterday to speak for Generation Z after weeks of practicing and preparing!

Happy to connect all generations and to exchange experience and thoughts on faith!

HUME LAKE

“But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.” 1 Corinthians 1:27-29

Over the last weekend we have been up in the mountains to join the fall retreat of the young adults of our church. The weekend at Hume Lake was filled with a lot of laughter, playing games, fellowship, studying the bible together and resting. We got to grow as a team as well as we were able to build relationships with the other young adults.

We are so amazed by the beauty of God’s creation and are looking forward to visit Hume Lake next summer again!

Foundational Training

„Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.“ Matthew‬ ‭28‬‬:‭19-20‬

All of the Pais North America teams and directors have attended Foundational Training in Arlington, Texas in the last two weeks of August.
These two weeks were filled with bible studies, worship, prayer, socials as well as important lessons and sessions on different topics. We also did an outreach at the college campus and shared Gods love with the students by giving away water bottles and candy. In the evening one of the students gave their life to Jesus during our worship night.

We, the Pais Costa Mesa team, had the chance to get to know each other better and to already built a relationship by studying the bible together and having deep conversations.

We are looking forward to what God has in store for us this upcoming year and are excited to share the gospel with the students here in Costa Mesa!
