Mesa City Church is a place where you can learn how to become the person God designed YOU to be, so we can become the people God called US to be, in order to help others become the person God designed THEM to be. Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness. . .” (Genesis 1:26 NIV)This is known as the Imago Dei. God created mankind to bear his image. Each of us were uniquely d
esigned by him to carry a specific piece that represents the creator. God has been restoring things back to his intended purpose ever since the intrusion of sin into this world. As part of the process of restoration, we are brought back into God’s plan as active participants in his plan for this world. Ephesians 2:10 says that “we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Our mission is to help people become the people that God created them to be, in order for them to be prepared to step into the mission of God. Become a life-giving community that encourages one another toward growth. Life is better when done with a group of people who will encourage and support one another. This sentiment is echoed by the writer of the letter called Hebrews in the Bible. The author says, “let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting toothier, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another. . .” (Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV) Mesa City Church is a community that believes the best in one another and encourages people to pursue becoming who God designed them to be. As we step into an understanding of who we are in relation to others, we will be best equipped to fulfill the purpose we are called to be part of. Missio Dei
Become an agent of change in the world around us. The mission of God is to redeem all things back to a spot of hope and life. The Old Testament prophet named Isaiah gave specific words of instruction to the Israelite people who were supposed to represent God. He told them, “Learn to do right; seek justice. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” (Isaiah 1:17 NIV) Mesa City Church joins in the mission of God (Missio Dei) by joining arms with groups of people around the world who need someone to fight for them. The goal is to help them become seen so that they receive the help they need in order to thrive.
