Our Story
“We are people who gather in the name of Jesus Christ to worship together and to serve the people of this community; to meet their spiritual needs, and show all people the importance of the Christian faith and the Church as they relate to all aspects of their lives.” Christ the Servant Lutheran Ministry began its history with a core group of members from First Lutheran Church of Chariton. The first worship service was held in the basement of Citizen’s Bank of Corydon in 1974. In 1981, the current building was constructed with the first service held in December of that year. Through the years, many families have worshiped together. It is our prayer that we can continue to be a presence in Corydon and Wayne County, not only through worship but in our call to outreach and servanthood to all people.
We are eager to continue to share the good news of Jesus Christ in our community and are always open to guests, visitors, and new members. Please visit us at a Sunday morning worship service at 11:00 a.m. or during a Tuesday event at the church.
