Good morning Friends & Families!
As many cemeteries, Hillside does not permit the use of temporary markers. We try to be conscious of loved ones that might be visiting for the first time, etc., so in the past we have left them for a time. However in some sections it has become far too much of a danger with our machinery. They represent a danger for our workers and visitors, should they come in contact with our equipment. The glass and metal that are often used can break or become projectiles. Safety is one of our biggest concerns. Going forward we will be adhering to our rule strictly. Should anyone need help finding the resting place of a loved one, we will be happy to help.
Thank you for understanding and be well~!

Rain Rain, go Away!
What happens when we get these strong downpours?
Recently opened/closed graves take quite a long time to settle. When we get heavy downpours, they settle significantly and quickly, leaving the area not pleasant to look at!
In addition to clearing fallen trees, limbs, branches, etc., our Grounds Crew attends to these issues which occur in many parts of our 100 acres. We just received over 20 yards of soil to back fill these graves and our guys are working tirelessly to make every section beautiful again! All back filled areas will be re-seeded as well. We thank you for your patience as we work diligently to ensure beautiful resting places for your Loved Ones.
