A Divine Liturgy and 40-day memorial prayer for the late Mr. Joseph Malak Afram will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Fr.Bijo Mathew will be leading services.

We hope to see everyone there.

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a faithful servant and a pillar of our community, Mr. Joseph Malak Afram.

Joseph was instrumental in the establishment of St. James of Nusibin Syriac Orthodox Church in Corpus Christi, TX. His tireless efforts, dedication, and sacrifices for the church will never be forgotten. His passing is a great loss to us all, but his legacy remains alive in the foundations he helped build.

On behalf of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Shabo, Fr. Bijo Mathew, we extend our deepest condolences to his wife Gina, his sons Malak and Mark and their families, and the entire Syriac community in Corpus Christi.

We pray that the Lord God grants him mercy and places his soul among the righteous and the just in His Heavenly Kingdom.

Funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they become available.

May his memory be eternal.
