"In Luke 11:1, Jesus’ disciples requested that Jesus teach them how to pray whereupon he said… like this…

“When you pray, say: “ 'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation”

If that was the extent of his lesson on prayer it would be a short lesson indeed but consider dear reader that the lesson goes though verse 26.

In the model prayer Jesus introduces the concept of the coming of “kingdom” that word is mentioned two more times…

- If Satan is divided is divided against himself how will (Satan’s) kingdom stand?

- If by the finger of God (Jesus) casts out demons then God’s kingdom has come upon you.

In the model prayer Jesus introduces the concept of praying for food and contrasts asking a neighbor for food and his reluctance to provide said food with God’s quick answer for the request to provide the necessary provender.

In Luke 11:1, Jesus’ disciples requested that Jesus teach them how to pray whereupon he said… like this… “When you pray, say: “ 'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And le...

When hope feels lost, faith does not require us to pretend that we have all the answers. Standing in a valley of dry bones, Ezekiel could only say, “O Lord God, you know.”

In Ezekiel 37, God meets his people in their grief, still calls them “my people,” and promises that death will not have the final word.

Join us for “When Hope Feels Lost”—a message about grief, the God who knows, and the hope we have in Jesus Christ.

One of the greatest gifts we can give someone who is hurting is our presence.

When someone is walking through grief, illness, loss, or a difficult season, it's easy to say, ""Let me know if you need anything."" But often, the people who need help the most don't know what to ask for—or don't want to feel like they're burdening anyone.

Jesus didn't wait for people to have the right words. He drew near. He noticed. He served. He wept with those who wept.

This week, let's look for opportunities to love like Christ by being intentional. Offer a meal. Send a text. Sit in the silence. Run an errand. Pray with someone. Small acts of kindness can become powerful reminders that no one has to carry their burdens alone.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." — Galatians 6:2

Who can you encourage this week? ❤️
