Colossians 1:25-26
‘The fullness of Gods Word’
“I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people.”
The problem with modern day Christianity is that people are not being taught the ‘fullness’ of Gods Word, but only bits and pieces of Gods Word. If we only partook in bits and pieces of foods that make us healthy how would we ever become strong? If we did not exercise how fit and strong would we become?
When is the last time that you have been preached to, taught through, and understood Genesis to Revelations? That is a lot of ground to cover, but from the first page to the last we are being taught how to know God, know Christ, and live holy lives. Do we understand now why we are not fully mature and keep being unfaithful and disobedient?
There is so much that has still been hidden to those who rely on others to teach them. Others that only teach their agendas and their messages rather than the full counsel of Gods Word. A great example of how we can be deceived is by being told that we were all born sinners. God’s Word states that after He saw all that He made it was good. Can being made a sinner good? Psalm 139 makes it clear that God fearfully and wonderfully created us in our mother’s womb? Does that sound like He made us sinners? Why do we believe that our names were written in His book of life if Jesus tells us that if we are not dressed in white, (holy), that our names can be blotted out of the book of life?
The lack of the fullness of Gods Word will destroy us rather than save us. We must learn that the Old Testament is our warnings, examples and our encouragement to stand fast with Him and be faithful to Him. The New Testament is also full of hope, and encouragement, but also full of warnings. The reason people do not desire to know the fullness of Gods Word is because they would have to die to theirselves, their desires and their will for their lives. Today, make it a point to know the fullness of Gods Word not just a few stories and bits of it. Without its fullness we will never truly know Him or give Him the glory due to Him. Read the Word and believe the fullness within it~
