The case involves a 3 year old medically fragile girl and her 4 year old sister. The 3 year old has a g-tube and receives her nutrients through the g-tube. A nurse monitors her in the home during the night time. Both children are currently staying with their great grandmother, who is unable to work and who does her best to meet their needs. Her income and financial resources are very limited. At this time, the great grandmother is requesting assistance with purchasing items for the medically fragile 3 year old child that are not covered by insurance (skin tag remover, Dynarex elastic bandage for g-tube site & Urea gel). In addition, the children are in need of a toddler bed for the 3 year old and a twin bed for the 4 year old. The 3 year old is sleeping on a toddler bed that was about to be thrown out and is not in good condition while the 4 year old sleeps on a full size worn mattress on the floor.
