Some highlights from our Metro churches:

• On Saturday evening August 29, The Westchester Soccer Club (WSC) of Mt. Vernon a professional team in the United Soccer League (USL), hosted Faith & Family Night at The Stadium at Memorial Field.

• Corona Congregational Church celebrated its Restoration Renewal Revival on September 11

• Interfaith 9/11 Remembrance Service--A group of Franciscan friars from the Graymoor Monastery in Garrison, NY, joined Pastor Asayo Thomas, members of the community and leaders of different faith traditions for the Remembering 9/11 Interfaith Memorial Prayer Service at the Reformed Church of Cortlandtown on Friday, September 11.

• United Church of Rockville Centre Celebrates Its Centennial--Rev. Scott Ressman from the United Church of Rockville Centre reports that the church marked 100 years of ministry in January 2026 and is celebrating its centennial throughout the year with special worship services, community events, and other activities. As part of the celebration, the Rev. Marsha Williams and Yvette Wynn have both preached during worship, bringing greetings from the New York Conference and the Metro Association, respectively.

The United States continues to provide military aid and arms to Israel as Israel attempts to expand its military footprint across not only Gaza and the West Bank, but Lebanon and Syria.

What are our UCC Global Ministries partners in the region asking of us in this time? How are they faring? What kind of practical actions can we take in the US to slow and disrupt the machinery of genocide and ethnic cleansing? How can you join with the UCC Movement for Palestinian Solidarity (UCC MPS) to be part of the change that is needed in this time?

In this UCC MPS Community Call, Dr. Peter Makari, Global Relations Minister of the Middle East and Europe with the Global Ministries (Christian Church/Disciples of Christ and the United Church of Christ) will share updates from the region, and appeals from our partners. We will also share information on how you can join UCC MPS and take practical action for the sake of justice, dignity, and peace in Palestine, Israel, and across the region. There will be time for sharing, prayer and mutual support as we live into the "costly solidarity" needed in this time.

100 Days of Action Has Started

Join Congregations across more than a dozen traditions to be Repairers of the Breach over the next 100 days.

Early voting is opening state by state, community by community, and we are being asked to march to the polls together! (In Virginia, the polls opened on September 18. Illinois opens September 24.)

Repairers of the Breach are calling for 1,000 Marches to the Polls over the next 100 days. This is a nonviolent, nonpartisan call.
If early voting is opening where you are, this is the week to march. As of this posting, there are 411 marches registered across 280 U.S. locations. (Every pin on the map is a congregation, a coalition, a neighborhood saying plainly that our vote is our voice.)

NO MORE 24 RALLY
OCTOBER 3rd - City Hall @12 noon

Once again, Homecare Workers, Sylvia Federici, activists, religious leaders, and more will be speaking out to fight for the dignity of women who are asking our city government to stop endorsing the inhumane practice of 24-hour workdays. These workers (the majority women of color and immigrants) who care for our parents, our elderly,and those with disabilities are human beings that need for us to care for them. Please come out and bring your congregations. We need the Council Speaker and the Mayor to see that the community cares about what happens to these workers.
