How can you tell if you’re judging someone—or something—accurately?

In Acts 28:1–6 NLT, Paul survives a shipwreck only to be bitten by a venomous snake. The people watching immediately assume he must be a murderer receiving divine punishment. But when Paul shakes off the snake and suffers no harm, they completely change their conclusion about him.

They were wrong about Paul twice.

Their culture shaped their conclusions, and what they believed they were seeing prevented them from recognizing what God was actually doing.

We can make the same mistake. Your lens can become your limitation.

What has fear kept you from doing, becoming, or believing?

In this powerful message, “From Fear to Faith,” acclaimed author and speaker Deborah Smith Pegues challenges us to confront the fears that have held us captive and discover what it means to live free from the bo***ge of fear.

Fear may show up as inadequacy, rejection, loneliness, lack, uncertainty, or even the fear of taking the next step. But God reminds us in Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you.” His presence means we never have to face our fears alone.

In this message, Deborah shares three practical, biblical steps for conquering fear:

1. Recognize the spirit of fear.
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Identify the lie fear has been telling you.

2. Seek God’s help.
Fear is a spiritual battle, and we need spiritual weapons to overcome it. “I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” — Psalm 34:4

3. Run toward the fear.
Like David running toward Goliath, faith calls us to stop allowing fear to dictate our choices and begin moving toward what God has called us to do.

🔥 Fear may be your first response, but it doesn’t have to be your final response.

Fear may raise its VOICE, but don’t let it dictate your CHOICE.

As you watch, ask yourself:
- What is my deepest fear?
- Where did it begin?
- What lie have I believed?
- What truth does Scripture declare against that lie?
- What action can I take today to move toward that fear?

It’s time to stop allowing fear to determine how far you will go. Take the leap. Move forward. Trust God. Go from fear to faith.

What happens when you obediently do what you’re supposed to do—and things still don’t go as planned?

Sometimes a closed door isn’t rejection. Sometimes it’s redirection.

In this powerful message, “God Is Not Rejecting You, He’s Redirecting You,” we look at Paul’s journey in Acts and discover what it means to maintain faith in the midst of confusion, disappointment, and unexpected change.

Paul was called by God. He was obedient to the assignment. Yet in Acts 16, the Holy Spirit prevented him from going where he planned to go. The mission hadn’t changed—but the direction had.

What you truly believe about God is never revealed during peace and prosperity. What you truly believe about God is revealed during adversity and disappointment.

Through Acts 9:15, Acts 15:40–41, Acts 16:1–10, and Philippians 4:15–17 (NLT), this message challenges us to consider:

• Can you trust God when His instructions don’t match your expectations?
• Can you maintain your faith when obedience leads to a closed door?
• Can you lead with composure when you don’t understand what God is doing?
• Can you recognize that a “no” from God may actually be pointing you toward a greater “yes”?

Then in Acts 16:9–10 NLT, God gives Paul a vision calling him to Macedonia. What looked like rejection was actually God redirecting Paul toward the people and places connected to his assignment.

Paul could have become offended, frustrated, or simply quit. Instead, he remained sensitive to God’s direction and continued moving forward in faith.

We’re here today in 2026 reading the books of Luke and Acts because Paul didn’t get offended at God and quit!

Think about it: What would have happened to the people of Macedonia if Paul had quit?

The impact of Paul’s obedience went far beyond that moment. The church in Macedonia would later become the first to financially support Paul’s ministry, as we see in Philippians 4:15–17 NLT.

Maybe the closed door you’re facing isn’t God rejecting you.

Maybe you’re being Divinely Detoured.

God might course-correct your path because He can see what you cannot.

Remember:

The direction might change, but the destination remains the same.
