Sista-Ships Worth the Reach
Dedicated to my daughters and Sista-ships. ❤️
After the last school bell rings,
After the wedding bells fade,
After babies arrive
And life finds a new rhythm.
When last names change
And calendars overflow,
Everyone needs your time,
And alarms remind you of schedules and bills.
While you’re raising a family,
Building a life day by day,
Packing lunches and prayers,
Parenting without a manual.
Protect space for you and your sista-friend.
Don’t let distance
Or busyness win.
Reach out. Check in.
Remember the ones
Who know your story by heart—
Who watched you grow,
From the very start.
Life may scatter
Your days and plans—
Ministry, marriage,
Deadlines and demands.
But somewhere between
The calling and the climb,
Promise each other
You’ll always find time.
Reconnect with laughter
That lightened the load,
With quiet prayers whispered
On hard, hidden roads.
Reconnect with women
Who sharpen your faith,
Who cover you gently
With wisdom and grace—not guilt.
Send the message.
Plan the lunch.
Close the distance—
One call, one touch.
Stay close, woman of God,
As vows are spoken and visions expand,
As the calling grows louder
And stretches your hand.
When you’re pouring from platforms,
Leading with strength and poise,
Yet carrying burdens
Beneath all the noise,
Stay near your sista-girls
Who knew you before the title—
Before “First Lady,” “Pastor,”
Before the revival.
The ones who pray for you
When you’re always praying for others,
Who see your humanity—
Not just the mantle you wear.
Ministry can feel lonely
At the front of the room,
But sisterhood shields the heart
From quiet gloom.
So guard those sista-ships.
Nurture them well.
Even women of deep faith
Need sacred spaces to exhale.
Because sista-ships aren’t seasonal—
They bend, but they don’t break.
Some sista-ships
Are worth the reaching.
