I went to create this podcast only to find that the software had drastically changed. After some downloading and learning the new platform, I was able to get it published!

I have been avoiding it, but I suppose it is time to face the reality that Sunday will be my last Sunday preaching at South Corning and Grace UMC's. I am retiring effective June 30 and the conference wants a 2-week buffer period between pastors. This has been an amazing ministry journey, and I don't know how I am going to function without the routine of preparing worship, visiting nursing homes and hospitals, and attending meetings. It has been all-consuming in a good way. Between my congregations in Erin, Sullivanville, South Corning and Grace, I have gained a family of people who I love dearly. I won't go away completely as I have agreed to fill in as needed when I can, and I am sure I will find new ways to serve God.

This evening at 5:30 at Grace UMC we will be having "Church on the Lawn", an outdoor service with an Irish feel. On Sunday, we will be talking about "Divine Interruptions", those times when God will take extreme measures to put us on the right path and/or to do what he needs us to do. We will explore the story of Jonah as well as the parable of the Good Samaritan. Join us at South Corning UMC at 8:45 AM and Grace UMC at 10:00.

In Mark 6: 6-13, Jesus sends his disciples out in pairs. This has always been the basic unit of ministry. Join us at South Corning UMC (8:45 AM) or Grace UMC (10:00 AM) as Betsy and I discuss our 32-year ministry journey together and explore the power that can be found in having a ministry partner.

Sunday, we will be wrapping up our examination of the Fruits of the Spirit with a discussion of self-control. This is where the "rubber meets the road".
