GOD’S PRECIOUS JEWELS MINISTRY
SUMMARY UPDATE—2019-2020
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the things He planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:10).
Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. (Acts 10:38).
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, (Second Corinthians 3:5).
The ministry of God’s Precious Jewels was birthed in 2001
The ministry has always operated in a diversified manner. Prayer for God’s direction has remained a key component in making decisions for ministry. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Jehovah Rapha (God Who Heals Support Group) has been meeting monthly since 2012. We plan to reopen meeting at M&M’s Ranch House in Red Bluff, CA once the Pandemic allows this. The support group began for cancer patients and later we opened to all people facing any illness. We miss this uplifting time.
Bibles, Gospel Booklets, and a variety of Christian literature are shared with other ministries during their outreaches. The Jesus DVD is available in many languages and has been widely used in a variety of ways in outreaches and they are also well received by children and adults.
My office has moved, and I am living at Oak River Rehab at 3300 Franklin Street, Anderson CA. 96007. Faithful Christian friends are my helpers and do my walking for me. I am thrilled to see how God continues His ministry here and outside this facility.
We have a viable candy ministry for all staff members, and they are always welcome to help themselves daily. Many also enjoy taking a promise card from a pretty box next to the candy.
A blanket ministry has been so appreciated here at Oak River Rehab Hospital. I was here last winter, and decided we needed to give them out to those who needed a soft fleece blanket to snuggle in this winter too. We just recently purchased around ten and have begun offering them to the patients. We also have hand made fleece blankets made by a lovely woman in Corning.
One of the board members has been discipling ladies for years in jail ministry and the many she has led to Christ personally. When Gloria and Steve began faithfully attending Jehovah Rapha they were greatly welcomed. They immediately became a close friend to all attending and have brought new people into the fellowship. Once or twice young women who were saved under Gloria’s ministry have shared their testimony with the group.
Sometimes I have contact with Native American ministries that I had opportunity to minister to from 2001-2009. We recently were able to purchase new shoes valued at three hundred dollars for Naomi Home for Children in Arizona. Two of my board members traveled with me during that time frame. Pastor Nathan & Susie Mayo ministered so sweetly to the little ones, and what a joy it was. My last trip was to Hoopa Reservation in in 2009. I was ill with cancer and very exhausted. Nathan and Susie have always helped the ministry, and it is wonderful still being in touch with them after so many varied experiences together.
Other opportunities for ministry close by are Life Net Pregnancy Center in Red Bluff, and Salt Ranch Ministry (homeless & hungry program). We praise God how He continues to provide to GPJ so we can share in blessing others. Outreach ministry gifts often include gifts to hospital patients, perhaps a card, flowers, a simple stuffed animal, a visit to a residence coupled with a card and prayer with a person in a difficult situation.
We were pleased to send offerings to missionaries in foreign lands on two occasions, and Camp Daniel For Disabled Children in Wisconsin.
Another part of GPJ Ministry is ministering in a large variety of ways such as help with rent payments, paying off a bill on a motor home to keep the family off the streets, providing gas cards for travel to doctor appointments (out of town), giving food and food cards for emergency needs, providing water during emergency needs locally or close communities, assisting with car repair needs, and more.
In closing this simple review of all that our Lord has provided, I have continued vision for the future. We will watch and pray and see what the LORD has in mind.
Serving Him together in Christ our Lord!
