Today's Agape Day Camp @ CIC middle schoolers headed to Angels & Sparrows Community Table where we learned about how volunteers make and serve at least 130 hot meals every day at lunch (and send some additional meals home with folks, too), how they grow some of their own produce in a garden built by youth, and how they store and rotate large quantities of donated food in a small amount of space ... in addition to helping sort, weigh, and store frozen meats we also helped prepare the marketplace area where folks can select food products to take home with them.

Today was the first day of our Agape Day Camp at CIC week! The middle school participants will be heading out each day for service-learning activities. This trip, admittedly, leaned into the learning portion as we headed to Good Karma Ranch Alpacas to learn alpaca history, how they are cared for, what they eat, and how their soft fiber is both harvested and what it is used for ... and we also got to feed them and hang out with them for a bit, too!

Vroom! Vroom! Happy Times was moving FAST yesterday as they got to experience a wonderful tour of the Charlotte Motor Speedway which was followed by a lovely lunch together at the Speedway Club. Despite racing around the track in a 15 passenger van(!), we trust everyone drove home at reasonable speeds 😁🏁🏎

The women had a great summer evening out together at Maola’s last night!
