📦🧹 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🧹📦

The countdown to renovations is on & we need helping hands! Join Mt. Zion Children’s Ministry & Sonshine Preschool for a Work & Clean Out Day on Wednesday, May 27 from 10:00am–2:00pm as we prepare our education building for renovations beginning Monday, June 1.

We’ll be moving children’s ministry and preschool supplies into a storage space over in the bottom of the sanctuary and cleaning out spaces. This is a great opportunity for adults, families, and teens needing service hours to jump in and help serve our church community together!

🍕 Pizza lunch provided for all helpers!

Whether you can stay for an hour or the whole time, we’d love to have you. Many hands make light work! 💙

Our children’s choir did such a beautiful job singing the introit alongside the choir during worship today! What a joy to see young voices leading in worship and praising God together with our church family🎶💙

Tonight at Grace & Gather, we paused to reflect on the things we carry — the worries, stress, expectations, grief, busyness, and burdens that quietly fill our “backpacks” each day.

The beautiful reminder from scripture is this: God never intended for us to carry it all alone. ❤️

In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus invites us:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…”

And in Habakkuk 3:17-19, we were reminded that even in seasons of struggle, uncertainty, disappointment, or waiting… we can still choose joy because our strength comes from the Lord.

Joy doesn’t mean life is easy.
It means we know Who walks with us through it.✨

A Summer Shift in Children’s Worship

As we head into the summer months, we’re excited about some special moments in worship that we want our children to experience alongside their families. There is something meaningful about children being present in the sanctuary—hearing the music, participating in prayer, and witnessing the life of the church together.

Beginning after May 3rd, we will pause Children’s Church for the summer. Instead, following the “Time Mostly for Children,” kids will return to sit with their families for the remainder of the service. We believe this is a wonderful opportunity for children to grow in their understanding of worship and feel more deeply connected to our church community.

A few important dates to note:

May 3rd – (Confirmation Sunday) Children’s Church will be offered at the 8:30am service only. There will be no Children’s Church at the 11:00am service as we celebrate and support our confirmands.

May 10th (Mother’s Day) – Join us as we honor and celebrate all mothers and mother figures during worship. This allows all our childcare workers and volunteers who are Mothers the opportunity to experience worship!

May 17th – Our Children’s Choir will be singing the Introit and the Anthem with the Choir at the 11:00am service—an exciting Sunday you won’t want to miss!

*Please note that Sunday School will continue to be offered each week at 9:45am. Nursery is always open at the 8:30am and 11:00am services for infants through 4 years of age.

Thank you for supporting this shift and for encouraging your children to fully engage in worship. We look forward to sharing this meaningful time together as a church family!
