September 1st – September 30th

Ladies, today we begin!
I would love to personally invite any woman who desires to participate to join us for His Daughters: Rooted in Christ, a 30-day journey of fasting, prayer, Scripture, movement, reflection, and sisterhood.
The purpose of this fast is simple: we want to fall in love with the Father all over again.

We spend so much of our lives pouring into our families, our homes, our churches, our careers, and everyone around us. For the month of September, we are intentionally making room to allow God to pour back into US.

We are going to study strong women of the Bible, pray together, fast together, move our bodies, encourage one another, and become more deeply rooted in Christ. This isn't about being perfect, and it isn't about who can fast the hardest. It's about getting closer to God and becoming the women He has called us to be.

“Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith...” — Colossians 2:7
I have created a PRIVATE Facebook group for WOMEN ONLY so that we can have a safe space to share our struggles, victories, testimonies, encouragement, prayer requests, and everything God is showing us along the way. What is shared among His Daughters will be treated with love, grace, and respect.

We will also come together once a week on Zoom to pray, talk honestly, encourage one another, discuss the woman of the Bible we studied that week, and celebrate our successes big and small.
Whether you're a member of Shady Grove or simply a woman who feels God pulling on your heart to participate, you are welcome.

We begin TODAY, September 1st, and continue through Wednesday, September 30th.
Come as you are. Bring your Bible, bring your heart, bring your struggles, bring your faith even if it's only a little right now.

His Daughters are getting ROOTED.
Rooted. Renewed. Restored. Rising.
Let's grow together, ladies.

Seeing such a special moment in the life of our church shared with the community truly touched our hearts.

WHAT A FIRST PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY! One week later, and our hearts are STILL FULL!

Last Sunday, August 23rd, we celebrated our 1st Pastoral Anniversary at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and there truly are not enough words to express how grateful we are. What a CELEBRATION! And most importantly WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!

To our beautiful Shady Grove family, THANK YOU! From our Kitchen Ministry who made sure everyone was fed, to the wonderful women who helped clean and prepare the church, to our AMAZING Dance Ministry who blessed us beyond words! And can we talk about teaching one of our babies from St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church the dance right there on the spot and she got up there and KILLED IT?! That was such a beautiful reminder of what ministry, love and unity look like!

To our Media Team, photographer, choir, musicians, decorators, leaders, members, and every person working behind the scenes. We saw you, we felt your love, and we appreciate you more than you know. You helped make the entire day beautiful from beginning to end.

To every guest Pastors and First Ladies, every visiting church and every guest who came to worship and celebrate with us THANK YOU for your presence, your prayers and your love. You could have been anywhere, but you chose to spend this special day with us, and we will never forget it.

To our FAMILY whew! Some of you flew in and some drove for miles just to be there and celebrate this first year with us. That kind of love means EVERYTHING. Thank you for showing up, supporting us, praying for us, and reminding us that no matter where God sends us, we are never walking alone. And to our two phenomenal speakers from Memorial Church International, Bishop Aaron E. Cummings, who blessed us during our morning worship, and Apostle Larry B. Aiken, who carried us through our afternoon celebration THANK YOU! Your words, your wisdom, your prayers, and the way you poured into Pastor Aiken, our family, and Shady Grove will stay with us far beyond this anniversary.

To EVERYONE who gave a gift, card, monetary blessing, hug, prayer, encouraging word, phone call, text, or simply showed up, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. This day was bigger than decorations, programs, pictures, or an anniversary celebration. It was a reminder of what God has done in ONE YEAR. Through every high, every challenge, every prayer, every sacrifice, every lesson, and every victory GOD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL!

Shady Grove, thank you for loving and walking alongside Pastor Sherrod & I, First Lady Jalessa Aiken during this first year. We don't take one moment of this journey for granted. One year down, and by the grace of God, there is so much more ahead!
