Who are we to approach a holy GOD?

Scripture answers honestly: we are dust. Guilty. Completely dependent upon grace.

Yet the One before whom we should fall is also the One who brings us near.

JESUS is not merely the KING who rules over HIS people. HE is our great PRIEST who offered HIMSELF for us. Through HIS blood, those who could never make themselves worthy are invited into the presence of GOD.

So when weakness, failure, or guilt makes you want to draw away, remember who CHRIST is.

The KING before whom you fall is also the PRIEST who brings you near.

“Having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of JESUS.” — Hebrews 10:19

Pilate looked at a beaten Man and assumed he held the power.

JESUS knew differently.

Even while scourged, mocked, and crowned with thorns, HE remained KING. Pilate could exercise only the authority GOD had permitted him to have.

That matters when our own circumstances appear to contradict GOD’s rule.

The throne has never been empty.

The world may mock CHRIST. Suffering may obscure what we can see. Circumstances may appear to be in someone else’s hands.

But the Man wearing thorns is still KING.

Begin this week remembering that nothing has removed JESUS from HIS throne.

“You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above.” — John 19:11
