"Beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the LORD one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The LORD is not slack concerning His promise as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that ALL should come to repentance. But the day of the LORD will come as a thief in the night..."(2 Pe. 3:8-10).
Here is the main point: Jesus is coming again. No matter what the world thinks, says, does or doesn't believe, Jesus is coming again to judge the world and to bring the completeness of His salvation to all who believe, obey, and follow Him.
*This promise has been foretold through the ages by holy prophets of old, the Apostles, and Jesus Himself (1 Pe. 3:2)
*As His coming draws near scoffers will come, walking in their own lusts, and mocking, "Where is the promise of His coming?" (3:3-4)
*These scoffers and mockers "willfully forget" God created everything by the power of His Word and judged sin in Noah's day by the flood, and the power of God's Word preserves creation until His promise of judgment and salvation is fulfilled (3:5-7)
*God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and be saved (3:9). God is a good and gracious God who loves everyone and offers everyone the choice of salvation or to "perish" in eternal judgment.
*The day of the LORD, the return of Jesus, will come like a thief in the night (3:10) "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, the last trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed" (I Cor 15:52)
Back to the main point, Jesus is coming again. It could be at any second. Are you ready. Believe, repent, follow and obey Jesus and you will be!
Come and worship with us a Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Church where the whole council of God is preached, where you will be loved, and where Jesus is LORD!

Blessings in the LORD Jesus Christ!
In Matthew 13:44 Jesus says, "The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."
The treasure that Jesus speaks of is the only eternal and unfading treasure. All of the things people seek after in this world are only temporary, and quickly fading away. But God offers us the opportunity to become children of God (John 1:12) who will inherit all of the unfading goodness, glory, and riches the flow from Him. The invitation is open. The way to Kingdom life is simple. You are invited!
We would love for you to worship with us at Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Church where The LORD is worshiped, His holy, unchanging Word is honored and proclaimed, and you will be welcomed with love.
Bro. Keith Harwell, pastor.

What does it mean to be a disciple of someone? What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Very simply, to be someone's disciple means to accept and believe their teachings and to adopt their lifestyle. Jesus said, "If you abide in My Word you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." (Jn. 8:31-32). Jesus commanded His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe ALL that I have commanded you." (Mt. 28:19-20).
The great "puzzlement" I have is hearing many who claim to be disciples, believers and followers of Jesus Christ, outrightly saying that certain lifestyles and teachings that are totally opposed to the teachings of The LORD in the Scriptures are acceptable and good. How can this be? If we believe He is LORD and God, Holy Savior of all who believe, how can we question in any way anything He has taught, commanded, or forbidden?
Jesus' life and teaching is one of love, love of God and of persons. That love is demonstrated in His death on the cross to become the atoning sacrifice for our sins, that we may be forgiven. For forgiveness of sin and reconciliation with God to happen repentance of sin is required. It is non-optional! Repentance, turning away from sin and turning sincerely toward God, is the essential first step in receiving God's free gift of salvation through Jesus. According to the Gospel of Mark Jesus' first gospel message was/is this: "The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe in the gospel" (Mk. 1:15) What the LORD says is sin is always sin. The LORD is unchanging in His holiness. Hallelujah, The LORD is unchanging and unwavering in His unconditional love toward us and His wide open invitation for whosoever will to believe, repent, and receive His gift of eternal life.
We welcome you to Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Church where Jesus is LORD, the Word of God from the Scriptures is honored, and you will be loved!

Blessings in the LORD Jesus Christ!
In Genesis 50:19-21 we read the following: "But Joseph said to them, 'Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don't be afraid. I will provide for you and your children,' And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them."
When Joseph comforted his eleven brothers with these words of assurance, he was positioned at the pinnacle of worldly power. But he wasn't always in that position. Joseph had endured terrible abuse from his brothers, was sold and served as a slave, and was even imprisoned for something he did not do. In all of his trials over several years Joseph remained faithful to the Lord. The blessings of his faithfulness have saved, benefited, and inspired the lives of multitudes of people ever since.
Join us for worship at Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Church Sunday September 3 at 11 am for joyful worship and fellowship and to receive hope and courage from the Word of God as we see God's love and faithful providence revealed in Joseph's life.
The LORD bless and keep you!

The New Testament begins with a list of names who were the ancestry of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:1-17). Some of these names are hard to pronounce and we might be tempted to just skim over them. Some of their stories are very interesting, to say the least, and we can learn a great deal about God's faithfulness to His plan and promises by examining their lives. We find hope and encouragement for ourselves. Join us in worship at Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Sunday August 27 as we hear, Fellowship, and grow in the Word of God that we preach and teach.

During our worship service on Sunday, August 20, will be hearing a message from Genesis chapter 22, the account of God testing Abraham by asking him to offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering. It's a challenging passage but it offers some glorious insights. Would like to see you in worship at 11:00 am! Blessings in Christ. Bro. Keith Harwell, Pastor.

Greetings in The LORD Jesus Christ? Here's a simple question: "What is your favorite Bible verse, which do you think most important?
There is no definitive answer, but I wish to share what I believe to be a most central and challenging verse in all Scripture. In John 10:30 Jesus says, "I and the Father are One."
Why is this so important? As we consider what Jesus says there are really only two choices: He is one and the same with God the Father, or He is not. If Jesus is not one and the same with the Father he would be an evil madman to claim such. But if He is one and the same with God the Father we are each confronted with the very personal question, "How will I respond to this eternal Truth?"
Jesus Christ is LORD, and the only proper way to respond to this Truth is by giving one's life to Him by faith in repentance of our sins, trusting Him for salvation, following Him in obedient love, and worshiping Him as LORD and God!
Bro. Keith Harwell is pastor at Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Church. I invite everyone to respond with questions and comments. Join us for worship at 11:00 am on Sunday, or in our Bible Fellowship every other Wednesday evening at 6 pm.
May the blessings of Christ be upon you!
