Thank you to all who attended, sponsored, and volunteered at the 2026 St. Thomas Parish Festival + Turkey Dinner yesterday. The weather was wonderful, and the community connection was even better! The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is August 15. This day commemorates the Catholic belief (dogma) that Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was assumed body and soul into heaven at the end of her earthly life. This places Mary in an ongoing intercessory role for those of us on Earth. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us!

It’s typically a Holy Day of Obligation, meaning Catholics must go to Mass (just like they’re expected to do on Sundays). However, because it is a Saturday this year, the obligation to attend Mass on this date is abrogated.

Mass times are as follows:
Church of Ss Peter & Paul in Loretto on Friday, Aug 14 at 6pm
St. Thomas the Apostle on Saturday, Aug 15 at 8:30am
