How do we function?
As plots are sold combined with donations, funds go into the perpetual care. Funds are then used for tasks like mowing, maintaining pathways, ensuring visible signage, securing the grounds & preventing weather damage.
While the cemetery maintains the overall grounds, families are responsible for the maintenance & upkeep of their individual plots, including headstones & decorations.
The cemetery may also reserve the right to remove any flowers and/or decorations if they interfere with maintenance or detract from the overall beauty.
The cemetery is NOT responsible for damaged stones or grave markers. When plots are purchased, there must be one per plot with the purchaser's last name or initials, placed that day.
Plots are $300. Each plot is 12ft by 5ft. When one is purchased, you will receive a receipt for proof of sale. You must keep that receipt if the plot is not being used immediately. (One reason why we require grave markers.) We understand there has been some confusion regarding ownership & location in the past, so moving forward, proof of purchase & ownership will be required before interment.
If a plot is no longer needed, you have two options. You may donate the plot back to the cemetery, as we are a non-profit organization and do not do refunds. Or you may sell/donate to someone else. However, if you sell your plot, you must give them the original receipt & contact the board so that we may make the appropriate changes.
Moving forward, if anyone has any questions, concerns or would like to purchase a plot, please feel free to contact one of the board members or by the cemetery email.
