A fun week of VBS is complete and a great finale last night! Thank you to the many volunteers and supporters who made this possible. We were overjoyed to see students all week and to share with them the truth of a loving God who goes with them on every journey.

The fun isn't over, though. Join us Sunday morning at 10:30 for a special youth and children's led service. All children and youth need to be in the sanctuary at 9:30 for worship practice. The journey continues!

VBS Day 3 was a blast! Our students followed the journeys of Elizabeth and Mary as they discovered the joy of God in their pregnancies and in their important roles in God's story. We learned that God with us when we are joyful!

The final day of VBS begins tonight at 5:30. We can't wait to see our wonderful kids again!

Another great day of VBS is complete! Last night, we followed the wandering Israelites in the desert as they journeyed toward the Promised Land. Our students learned that we God with us on the journey even when we go off course.

While the SBC news is disheartening, we will continue to be a home for all women to embrace the full calling of God on their lives. There is work still to do and a God who remains faithful.

We pray for the young girls and women who are told no when God tells them yes. We pray rigid systems of dogma would be dismantled for the sake of the Holy Spirit who is poured out on all people equally. We pray that eyes and hearts would be open to the God of Deborah, Ruth, Esther, Mary Magdalene, Phoebe, Priscilla, and the many women who have been and are being called to lead us.

Today, the SBC voted again to further restrict women in pastoral roles in churches all across the country.

Baptist Women in Ministry laments this decision and the harmful messages it amplifies.

Convention votes do not decide who is called to pastor, preach, or minister.
Convention votes do not dictate whose callings churches can affirm.
Convention votes do not determine women’s value to God or the church.

Yet convention votes do cause real harm to women and girls.

We express our solidarity with the women in ministry who have been harmed by this vote and the rhetoric surrounding it. Women in ministry deserve affirmation, respect, and the opportunity to follow God’s call.

We remain steadfast in the truth we proclaimed for millions to see: God calls women to pastor, preach, and minister.

VBS Day 1 is in the books! We learned about Abram and Sarai and the courageous journey God called them to and led them on. Our students learned that God is with us on the journey!

Day 2 starts tonight at 5:30!

It was a joy to provide lunch for the faithful workers at CBFKY’s extreme build. These baptists have been hard at work for over a week, and they started with only a concrete slab. We give thanks to God for the mission to which we have been called!
