A CALL TO REMEMBER

Colossians 3:13, “Remember the Lord forgave you…”

God has given to us a mind for many purposes, and one primary purpose is to review, and remember the wonderful truth that the Lord forgave us. When Jesus died on the cross, He died experiencing the full wrath of God upon Him, because He was the sin-bearer for all mankind. God vented His wrath upon Jesus. Why? Because Jesus became sin for us. Our sins must experience the wrath of God. Because Jesus loves you, He took your sin, and experienced God’s wrath for you. Because God must punish all sin. When Jesus died, He forgave you of all your sin. Name any sin you have committed, and God announces “forgiven”. Allow yourself to live free today, because God has set you free by the blood of the cross.

DISORIENTED

Psalm 22:1 (TLB) My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why do you refuse to help me or even to listen to my groans?

The reality of this one life is that there are those times in life that we genuinely, authentically “feel” as though God has abandoned us, left us and walked away from us. Our “feelings” are a most unstable thing in our lives. The psalmist felt as though God had abandoned him in this first verse, yet when you come down to the end of this chapter…there is praise and worship. What makes the difference? The answer is prayer. When we fail to pray, it is easy to become disoriented to God and life itself. A prayerless life is often times a disoriented life at best. A life that feels alone, and abandoned by God. However, when we become oriented to God through prayer, we realize that we were never forgotten, abandoned or forsakened…we were simply disoriented. Choose to focus on the God who loves you this day, and worship Him, knowing that you are in the “palm of His hands” and He can never forget you.

THE VALUE OF A SOUL

Psalm 49:8 (TLB)
8 For a soul is far too precious to be ransomed by mere earthly wealth. There is not enough of it in all the earth to buy eternal life for just one soul, to keep it out of hell.

If a person could amass to himself all the wealth that is on this earth, all that wealth would not compare to the value of “one human soul”. The value of your soul is beyond human comprehension and understanding. Yet, God demonstrated the value of your soul 2000 years ago when Jesus (God in the flesh) went to the cross to die for your sin. God in flesh, took your sin on his body, in order that He in turn could give to us eternal life (for all who will believe). You may amass a great fortune, money, property, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, but you can never amass enough money to save your soul from doom and damnation. There is but one way for that to be altered, through Jesus Christ. Your soul has been made by the hand of eternal God, and will live for all of eternity. To believe in anything less than Jesus to rescue your soul will be to your eternal peril.
