Today in Impact Kids!

Today, our students learned that God’s plan comes first! What a great reminder that we can trust His plan, even when things don’t go the way we expected.

Some students were disappointed because they forgot that today was our collection for Philip’s birthday. The good news is that we’re extending the collection until next Sunday!

If your child would like to bring a donation for Philip’s birthday, they are welcome to do so next week.

Navigating a Broken World: Hunger

This week’s lesson focused on an important truth that God provides what we need. In our Bible story, kids are learning that God sees our needs, cares for us, and provides in ways we may not always expect.

We know that for some kids, this can feel like a hard idea. Not every need feels easily met, and your family may be walking through a challenging season. This week, we’re helping kids understand that God is with them, He sees them, and He cares deeply about what they’re going through. We may not understand why our circumstances are the way they are but we can trust that God loves us.

As a family, take a moment to talk about ways God has provided for you, big or small. You can remind your kids that everything we have is a gift from God, and while He may not provide everything we want, He is with us in our hurt and has a plan for our lives.

Discuss: Are there places in our world where people don’t have enough food to eat? What do you think God has to say about that?

Talk to your kids about how God loves every kid in every place. He is near to every kid, whether they have lots to eat or very little. Our world is broken, causing issues like hunger and poverty. God has provided the world with plenty of food, but because our world is sinful, people don’t always help those in need. All over the world, God is using His people to help those who are hungry, and we can look for ways to help too. Life will never be fair for all people in this world, but we look forward to the day when Jesus will make all things new and no one will ever hunger again. Revelation7:16 talks about that day. This verse says: “ They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.”

I hope these are helpful points to support your conversations at home about Sunday’s lesson. 🙏

What an awesome Sunday in Impact Kids! We loved seeing some new faces as kids brought friends to visit with us! 😊

Today we learned about Moses and the burning bush!

Reminder: Bring a friend this Sunday!

Take a moment to ask your child “Who is one friend you could invite to church this Sunday?”

One invitation can open the door to a new friendship, a new community, and most importantly, an opportunity for a child to know, love, and follow Jesus. 🙏

Who will your child invite?

Navigating a Broken World: Loneliness

This weeks’s Brite lesson talks about something many kids experience, but don’t always say out loud which is loneliness. In our Bible story, Jacob finds himself completely alone after leaving his family, yet God meets him there and reminds him that he is not truly alone.

Kids today are growing up in a world where loneliness is common, and some may carry that feeling more than we realize. This week, help your children see that God is always near. He sees them, knows them, and cares deeply for them.

As a family, take a moment to check in with your child about their friendships and how they’ve been feeling. Remind them that even in lonely moments, God is with them and they always belong to Him.

Here’s how you can discuss it at home:

1. Can you share about a time when you felt lonely?

2. Do you think kids are lonelier these days? What might be some reasons for that?

3. What does God have to say about that?

Share with them that a lot of people feel lonely these days. If you’ve felt that, you are not alone. Sometimes it might feel challenging to make friends or hang out with others. We spend a lot of time on screens, but this isn’t the same as having real friendships with people. God wants us to connect with other people. Maybe this week you can make a point to talk to someone new, especially someone else who might be lonely too. Even when we’re alone, we can trust God is always with us. The Bible teaches us that when we feel lonely, we can talk to God. Psalm 25:16 says “Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.”

I hope these discussion points are a helpful resource as you continue meaningful conversations together at home and encourage your child’s faith throughout the week. 🙏💕

Today in Impact Kids, we learned that God always keeps His promises! Even when Jacob made mistakes, God still had a plan. His promise continued through generations and ultimately led to Jesus, our savior!

We can always trust God’s promises!
