PDA has processed a solidarity grant for our partner Juneli Nepal and we are working with our other partner in Nepal, TOGETHER FOR NEPAL, while they assess the needs to soon put in their grant request, as well.

Presbyterian Women met recently and elected officers for the the new year. Did you know that PW is organization within PCUSA with a community of 200,000 women? Our PW group is committed to nurturing each others faith through prayer and Bible study. Also they help support the Blessings Hope Orphanage in Pakistan, RELUFA in Cameroon, Coryell County Rainbow Room, and the city of Copperas Cove Animal shelter.

Whew what a busy Sunday with something for everyone! We packed 120 Gift of the Heart hygiene disaster kits during our final August Mission Month activity, participated in our worship service and heard Rev. Tom Tickner message, "How Very Good and Pleasant It Is", took a church picture (quite a few missing), enjoyed a potluck luncheon with a birthday celebration, and finally a session meeting. Busy times in this Spirit filled church!

Special thanks to those who came and wrote affirmations on special cards for the residents of Hill Country Heights Rehab and Nursing Center. This was our second Mission and Outreach activity for the month of August.

We are the sandwich makers! 400+ sandwiches for the Fairview Community Soup Kitchen were made in about 45 minutes before our worship service. Our congregation really likes serving the Lord by doing this hands on activity. The soup kitchen is always so appreciative of our helping them serve those in need. FPC Cove has been doing this activity on the first Sunday in August for about 10 years now.

The congregation lifted up in prayer the ordination of Lem Comfort by Rev. Tom Tichner. We welcome her as the church life elder.

On Trinity Sunday, FPC recognized Glen for his recent high school graduation. This young man has attended our church since he was in the second grade. He was given a walking stick that symbolizes that God will always be with him and the Bible Promise Book. Of course afterwards we had to celebrate with cake. Congrats Glen!

Before our Pentecost service began, we all got together to sing "Happy Birthday" to the Church by wearing our red shirts and ribbons. (plus two photos of those who missed out in the original photo).Thanks Ephraim for playing the Happy Birthday song on the piano for us! What fun it was to celebrate this very important event in the life of the Church! Also thanks, Rev. Daniel Beteta for being our guest minister. Finally, we did celebrate another birthday. Happy Birthday Os!
