BridgeWay Church Missions

BridgeWay Church Missions At BridgeWay, we are committed to being a church without walls. Just as Jesus presented the perfect pattern for spreading the Gospel in Acts 1:8.

we will build bridges to people in 4 strategic areas: Jerusalem (our own backyard), Judea (surrounding counties), Samaria (our own nation), and the ends of the earth.

OUR EUROPEAN MISSIONARIES
Last week, a young Muslim man gave his life to Jesus during his and Jake’s third Bible reading. After studying Mark 2, this man was amazed that Jesus knew what the religious leaders were thinking. He exclaimed, “It’s a miracle!” They prayed that this young man would receive forgiveness and a new life!

Six months ago, our missionary trained a church in another country along with their pastor. The exciting news is that twenty-five people were now trained, plus there are seven active Discovery Bible Study groups. They’ve also been sharing the gospel on the streets. Two weeks ago, our missionary returned and brought along his oldest son to help with the instruction.

Another church in their country, led by a former Muslim from Morocco continues to share the gospel and make disciples. In July, our worker will return with another Evangelism and Discipleship training. They’ll be joined at that time by a short-term mission team from Los Angeles.

Weekly, our worker meets on ZOOM with two Iranian men. They’ve completed twelve weeks of the Commands of Christ study. They are growing strong in their faith.

The sisters in Turkey are waiting for their Canadian visa interviews. While they wait, they’re actively making disciples and raising up leaders. Recently, there was news that house churches in Iran were growing. There’s even a new church being formed. Two leaders are heading to Iran this month.

Their family is doing great! The youngest son, who is finishing third grade, enjoyed a camping trip with his father, during which they began studying Passport to Purity. The older son, who will be in eighth grade in the Fall, meets regularly with his dad to have intentional lunch conversations. At the breakfast table, the whole family is finishing up a study of Proverbs and learning to pray the names of God. In June, they’ll go on vacation to their favorite beach.

OUR MISSIONARIES IN NORTHERN EUROPE

“Our female worker has finished the journey to become a translation consultant and is now having conversations with unexpected translation projects as the word gets out that someone with her training is ready to help. In (our male worker’s) ministry, he is getting to see both the fruit of years’ work and planning to meet unexpected twists and opportunities.”

They are seeking to discern where the Lord is leading them.
At an annual forum he attended, he connected with leaders from across the Bible Translate movement, including deaf leaders." His main interest was in the Diaspora Ministries. Conversations led to fruitful and practical collaboration and overcoming shared challenges. Focus was on challenges and solutions. Bible translation has the potential to serve these communities more effectively. He felt encouraged by partners he will be able to work with. It gave him a “sharpened vision” for the work ahead.

Our male worker has also been appointed as the Interim Diaspora Group Director for his group over the next five months. He will supervise nine direct reports and two to three language programs. Among the reports include new ministries in the USA, survey work to find Diaspora language communities, and a focus on Trauma Care.

At the end of May, he’ll be representing the Diaspora Group and “sharing the breadth of the ministry his teammates are doing and meeting with potential teammates exploring joining our group.” This requires much of his time and effort, but it’s worth it.

Finally, Family time! Along with their young daughter, our workers visited an exhibit on the history of board games in their city. It was a fun event for the whole family as they took some time to breathe and appreciate the beauty of where they live.

PRAYER REQUESTS
• In just a few days, we will have a couple exploring joining the Diaspora work here in Europe stopping to visit us before going to explore what ministry might look like for them in Marseille, France. Pray for them during this time of discernment and for us as hosts.
• With these upcoming major organizational meetings, he will be headed to the US at the end of May. Pray for these meetings and conversations. There is so much to be done. Pray for our female worker and their daughter, that everything goes well as they remain at home.
• Pray for the team he works with as Interim Diaspora Group Director. They are doing amazing work and he is giving his all to support them well.

Our Worker at UTA and TCC

It has been a busy end-of-school-year for us here at the University of Texas at Arlington and at Tarrant County Community College. They also, with some other ministries, worked together for an event called 72 Hours of Prayer. There was a tent set up with different stations. Students signed up for a time to pray over the three days of the event. After the seventy-two hours, they celebrated with a united worship night.
At Tarrant County Community College Northeast, they have been doing a weekly outreach. They even had an opportunity to help out at the annual Spring Fest. There, they passed out candy, stickers, and school supplies. They even hosted a Prayer Request box.
They had an opportunity to volunteer at the Tarrant County Food Bank. They did some organization work and bagged food for needy families. Serving was a way to live out our Christian values.
We had our final Thursday Night Fellowship (TNF) meeting and our end-of-year party. It was the last time we would all be together since our seniors will be graduating and some students will transfer. Such a bittersweet time.
This year has been fruitful as many seeds were planted and some have come to fruition. It is because of your support and the fact that you have a vision for what campus ministry can be. Thank you so much!

OUR WORKERS IN THE MED RIM April/May 2026
The war in Iran has affected many of our worker’s people. They are understandably preoccupied with the well-being of family and friends back home. They’ve also expressed hope for change in Iran so that they might return to their country.
“Please join us in praying that the love of God and the peace of Christ would overcome hatred, false teaching, and misguided visions of the future, and that many would come to know the true hope found in Him.”
Two young men in our worker’s community have taken steps to lead some Bible studies and to share messages during worship gatherings.
There have been two significant baptisms. One was a young man who is on fire for Christ and is eager to serve Him. The other, also a young man, lives in England now. Our workers have found that often when their people move on to settle in a different country, the seeds they have planted sprout, and grow thanks to God’s intervention. This is the case with this second young man.
Their women’s Bible Study has added some fun activities to their usual agenda. They are using painting nails and exercise to connect with non-believers.
Five people in their community have wanted to learn to play the guitar for some time. Their desire is to lead worship with guitars rather than recorded music. They have begun to take lessons from a friend who has volunteered their time as a guitar instructor.
Recently, our male worker oversaw the vow exchange between two of their community members: one Iranian and the other Greek. They have been together for twelve years, but are unable to get officially married due to the man’s asylum case being rejected.
A woman originally from Albania who speaks English and has many connections in the Albanian community here is leading a Discovery Bible Study followed by fellowship, and a meal. They explore Scriptures: what they say, what they mean, and how to apply the Scriptures to their lives.
Our male worker has long had a passion for scientific and Biblical apologetics: the coexistence of the Bible and science. He recently spoke at a Greek church and afterwards was invited to meet with the director of Jesus TV to plan a possible four-part series on the topic. This is a wonderful opportunity to plant seeds and to build healthy relationships with Greek churches for multiplying disciples.
Weekly, our female worker and a partner have been evangelizing at a local park. They have met a lovely young Greek woman who was happy for Christian discussion and to be prayed over. They are praying for this young woman to accept the one true God of the universe.
About one and a half hours from their location is a refugee camp of mostly North African refugees. There, they have met an Egyptian American missionary who shares their heart for reaching Arabic-speaking refugees. They spoke with a man from Sierra Leone who needed a ride into town. Recently, they’ve learned that this man was leaving Greece, but the seeds are planted.
In March, our workers had a visit from our Bridgeway pastor and his family. This was a wonderful time of sharing and praying together. They were also blessed by a visit from one of their biggest supporters. They spent their time leading, discipling, pastoring, and comforting those whom Jesus is drawing to Himself from Muslim backgrounds.

PRAYER REQUESTS
• The baptism of so many believers.
• The growth of the two men as they lead Bible Studies.
• The Afghan and Kurdish women who joined their women’s group.
• The young Albanian woman for her leadership of their Albanian Bible Study group.
• Our male worker’s opportunity to share his passion about scientific and Biblical apologetics at two Greek churches.
• The divine appointment in the park.
• Our visitors from Texas.
Ask God:
• To bless the wedding vows
• For the protection and freedom of the people and the nation of Iran from the impacts of war.
• For the Holy Spirit to move through our Albanian group to multiply
• To bless our preparation for a Discipleship meeting with about twenty potential Iranian disciple makers in Germany at the end of May.
• To lead us to more persons of peace who are open to hear and to grow in the Gospel.

Our Missionaries in Northern Europe

Our female missionary has completed her work translating Jeremiah in early March. She has chosen to stay with the same East African team through the winter as they complete their full Bible translation. They only have Ezekiel, Lamentations, and Daniel left to do.

“Every year, senior leaders from many of the organizations central to the Bible Translation movement gather to meet and collaborate.” This organization is called the Forum of Bible Agencies, International (FOBAI). This year, our male missionary was invited to represent the company’s Diaspora Populations in mid-April.
“On March 14, (our male worker) was able to help lead a seminar focused on cross-cultural witness, particularly in light of the continued migration to Italy of those from North Africa and the Middle East.” Italian churches are eager to engage with and get additional training in order to build bridges and to offer a clear witness to these new neighbors.

QUEST Academy is a ministry of training and outreach in Europe. This year, they were able to have translation in English, Arabic, and Italian. Our workers are excited to be collaborating with them again. Our male worker was able to include trauma dynamics for asylum seekers in one of the seminars.

Our workers are expecting three visitors this spring. Two of the people are doing “vision trips” facilitated by our male worker. The first visitor is interested in working with diaspora people somewhere in Europe. The second visitors are people who are headed to a developing diaspora field in Marseille, France. Their final visitor will be their company’s International Coordinator of Trauma Care. The Coordinator will be visiting to learn about the work our male missionary does with the local diaspora community concerning Trauma Care or Trauma Healing. Our workers hope to expand the program to include trainings and best practices from the Trauma Healing Institute, whose programs bring together the ideals of “the wisdom of Scripture, proven mental health practices, and the power of community.”

And finally, our workers have finally received their new residency permits, which are good for a year longer than normal. Such a huge sigh of relief!

Prayer Requests:
• Pray for these upcoming trips to visit with them. Pray that travel would be smooth and that the time here in person would be fruitful. Pray for the discernment of those who are coming to explore their next steps.
• Pray that those who came to this seminar would take the next steps to put what they have learned into action. Pray that this may lead to a wider collaboration by the Italian church in serving and being witnesses to their neighbors from other faiths and cultures.
• Pray that the Lord would stir in this FOBAI annual meeting. Pray that the conversations would be rich and that together as multiple organizations we would find ways to better serve refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants who are still in desperate need of Scripture.
• Thank the Lord we have the documents to serve in Italy another two years without interruption.

What’s Happening in Europe?
Our missionaries in Europe are doing very well. At their breakfast table, they have completed Psalms and are moving on to Proverbs. Their family is also learning some of the names of God. Each family member prays using one of these names. What a wonderful time!
Meanwhile, the sisters (group leaders) in Turkey have recently sensed that their safety as refugees is not as stable as it once was. One of the sisters was called in and interrogated by Turkish Intelligence. They even asked her to work undercover to expose believers and churches in Iran and in Turkey. They offered her citizenship, a home, university acceptance for her kids, and a car. Instead, she told the Turkish officials how Jesus had saved her from depression and that she would pray for them as well. Later that week, she was blessed to receive a passport. The sisters continue to teach their families and some other leaders in Turkey and Germany.
One of the sister’s sons, a man in his early 20s, has begun gathering youths together for Discovery Bible Study, prayer, and fun as a group. Jake meets with this young man weekly.
Our male worker has recently met a young Moroccan believer. He and his wife have begun meeting with our workers over the past couple of months. Our missionaries had been praying for a Person of Peace from Morocco for over six years. What an answered prayer!!! This couple has been equipped with a simple path to follow and some simple tools from Acts and Mark. Recently, this couple and our male leader equipped twenty-five people to work together in another city.
Our male leader has met a man from Senegal. They have had a meal and read a story about Jesus. Pray for the truth to pe*****te this man’s heart. He’s had a difficult life as a refugee, but he’s very kind and smart.
In the past week, they’ve had a visit from friends who work in Bangladesh. They and our male worker sat in a mosque and chatted with an imam about Jesus.
Our male worker is attending a men’s conference led by John Eldredge in the Netherlands with a few friends. He will have time while there to connect with a team they have been mentoring in The Hague.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support!

Madison at UTA

“I hope you all had an amazing February! Ministry this month was sweet and back to our normal routine after breaks and Winter Retreat. The month has so many notes of God’s love for his people woven throughout it.”
Here are some highlights!
OUTREACH AT TCC
We’ve started a new weekly outreach time at TCC (Tarrant County College), on their northeast and southeast campuses. With the help of some UTA students, it has blossomed this semester! We’ve had the opportunity to meet so many students this semester.

PIZZA THEO
The topic of the February Pizza Theo was, “How to think like a Christian.” Our pastors were very encouraging around the subject of taking our relationship with God to the next level. “Whether it be engaging in growing our Biblical literacy or deepening our conversations with other believers, there are so many ways we can grow in our thinking.”

MISSION ARLINGTON
Our core at UTA went to volunteer at a local place called Mission Arlington. We got to organize Easter stuff that will be distributed to local families in need. It was a super opportunity to serve with other people you love as well as to serve those who you will never know. It was a wonderful way to serve the kingdom.

THANK YOU!
“As always, I am grateful for the support that comes from those reading these words. Doing ministry the last year and a half has been such a gift, and it wouldn’t be possible without your partnership. I can’t wait to see how God works the rest of the semester and know that you are a part of it.”

Our Workers In Europe
Our female worker has “been deep in the major prophets over the last year or so.” She worked on the book of Isaiah with a group from East Africa last year. Now that that has finished up, she has been invited to continue translating and checking with the same team on the book of Jeremiah. Both Isaiah and Jeremiah are long books that deal in part with the rebellious actions of God’s chosen people. Usually they’d face consequences, but this time, God had something else in mind. In the midst of brokenness, suffering, and judgment, God gave them a bit of hope. There’s a reminder that God is no done yet. That the story is not over. He promised that all will be made new.

Our job as Christians is helping others hear of this awesome promise. The promise of hope.

Our male worker was part of a team that helped put on an event in their city that felt miraculous. It brought together many of the Protestant churches in the northern part of their country. These churches have been sharply divided creating massive barriers between them. Addressing the immigrant and refugee populations in their respective neighborhoods is a challenge for them. The Lausanne Movement recently met and hopefully, with collaboration, their divisions can be healed in favor of sharing the gospel in word and in deed.

Another issue that was utmost on their mind was engaging younger leaders and discussing the multiculturalism that is so prevalent in their city now. Our male worker and his teammate spent much of their time connecting with as many friends and leaders as they could. Many new contacts were made as well.
The Winter Olympics have hit their city in a big way. Because of the high ticket prices, our workers will not be attending any of the Olympic events. But they did manage to see the Olympic torch as it came through their city.

And finally, they have been denied the long-term permits of stay that they had requested. The government will continue to renew their two-year permit. Overall, they are grateful to be allowed to continue their work here.

PRAYER REQUESTS
• With the Olympics in town there are a wide range of ministry activities happening this month from outreach efforts, to concerts, to churches offering to be places of hospitality for the hundreds of thousands who have arrived just for the Games. Pray for these volunteers and local churches as they seek to offer a warm and caring welcome to those coming from around the world.
• Pray for this transition onto the two year religious permit of stay, that everything would go smoothly. We don't anticipate any issues from here, but we covet your prayers nonetheless.
• Our female worker is starting to get notes back from the teams working on Jeremiah. They will be meeting together in the coming weeks to review any outstanding questions and issues. Pray for understanding both for her and the team as they try to make sure the translation is communicating clearly. Pray for the health and families of everyone involved that they would be able to make it to the scheduled meetings. Finally, pray for the electricity, internet, and translation software that they would all be working during our time together!

Madison is our missionary at the University of Texas/Arlington. She also does some activities at TCU and TCC.

January UTA Summary

“2025 had some awesome God deals and I can’t wait to see what He has planned for this year.”

Christmas TNF
Rather than have their usual Thursday Night Fellowship, they had a Christmas devotional. They explored the Christmas story in the Bible and marveled at the magnitude of this story. After 400 years of silence, the silence was broken by a baby’s cry. It was wonderful to commune and worship with our group one more time before the end of the year.

Christmas Party
Every year, we enjoy putting on a Christmas party. This year’s theme was “Christmas at the Oscars.” It was such a fun night and they had many helpers from Madison’s home church: Bridgeway in Flower Mound. “They cheerfully served our students and our staff team the entire night and helped make the event so special.”

Room Makeover
Several of their students stayed in town past Finals. These students helped Madison redo her room. They organized, hung a collage wall, and even put out some boxes to be donated. It was a really fun opportunity to show the students that life is so sweet when working with others.

“I am so thankful for the partnership I have with each of you.” You and God enabled us to reach out to these precious students often. “My sweet friend Ronnie often says, ‘you can’t out give God’ and he is so right!” Thank you each for being part of this ministry.
