1. A Walk Around Athens: Religious Themes in the Movies with Mike Nelson (4 Weeks) - “In Acts 17, Paul walks around Athens, disturbed by what he sees. Nonetheless, he learns speak to that unbelieving culture on their terms. However disturbed we are by our own culture, we must learn to speak to them on their terms. Buried in the plots and characters of modern movies are religious themes that people intuitively understand which can provide that common terminology for communicating the gospel.”
2. Understanding the Foundations of the Christian Religion with Brett Sidebottom (4 weeks) - “Why do we believe in the Trinity? What exactly do we mean by "Trinity" anyway? Why was the early church convinced of the full Divinity of Christ? You don't need a Master of Divinity or a degree in Philosophy to understand all of this. With clear teaching, everyone can understand what we believe and why. We'll spend a couple of sessions learning about testimony to God's nature from the entire Bible, develop clear vocabulary, and answer questions you may have never thought about before.”
3. Cover to Cover: The Old Testament with Geo Ammerman (4 Weeks) - "One of the wonders of the Scripture is that the God of all creation would tell His story of salvation from dozens of perspectives, across thousands of years in various languages, cultures, and moments in history, in one cohesive unit, the Bible. Whether you’ve read it cover to cover a dozen times or you’ve gotten stuck in the Book of Leviticus a dozen times, we all need to be reminded of the beauty of the story in its entirety. Over the course of 8 weeks (4 in June and 4 in July), we will walk through scripture from Genesis to Revelation: Cover to Cover. Remembering the stories, realizing the connections, and reveling in the glorious grace of our great God.”
