Bible core course has been a lot of fun so far. I’ve learned so much about the Bible learning new study methods, studying the cultural/ Historical background in books of the Bible, and growing closer to Gods word. I love these people and I’m so glad I’m fortunate enough to travel and meet them.
We learned about Romans this last week and a something that stuck out to me is in this scripture Romans 9:1-5 “I am speaking the truth in Christ— I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit– that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart, For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh. They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises. To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.”
Explanation: Paul is willing to give up his partnership/ salvation with Christ going into eternal torment so that the Israelites could be helped. This really nails down the love Paul had for his people because the amount he loved Christ is so great and for him willingly giving up that is mind blowing!!
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
Romans 3:18 then I prayed and the Lord gave me this verse it connects to an assignment we had which was about all the proverbs that talk about fearing the Lord. We’re called to revere and respect God because he is mighty. Not a fear of fright but a fear of delight. When we delight in him we see his character and we can see he is just and hates evil! There’s a proverb that says “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.”
Proverbs 8:13 we can be more like Christ when you truly fear the Lord. This is not to tell you what to do, but take and dwell on this for yourself, seek, ask, and knock. Delighting in God and he will reveal himself to you!🙌😁🕺
