As we celebrate our country this weekend, we thank God for the freedoms we enjoy in this country. May we continue to seek His guidance, live in His grace, and shine His light in all we do.

May we also pause in gratitude for those who have served and sacrificed to protect those blessings.

Heavenly Father, on this Memorial Day we remember those who gave up their future for the sake of our present. We are grateful and humbled by the sacrifices of those who loved their country more than themselves.
As we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this nation, we pray that your hand of protection be upon those who currently serve this nation—watch over them, bless them, and bring peace to this world. Amen.

A weekend was spent in connection and growth with our Synod congregations, as well as in prayerful discernment in the election of our new Bishop.
