Have you ever noticed that sometimes the greatest spiritual resistance comes right after you've taken a step of obedience?👀
You finally begin serving where God has called you. 
You start sharing your faith.
You commit to spending more time in His Word.
You begin leading your family spiritually.
And suddenly discouragement, fear, exhaustion, doubt, criticism, temptation, or unexpected obstacles seem to come from every direction.
This shouldn't surprise us because Scripture reminds us that "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers..." (Ephesians 6:12).
The enemy isn't threatened by good intentions—he's threatened by believers who are actually living in obedience.
Think about Nehemiah.
As soon as he began rebuilding Jerusalem's wall, opposition appeared. Sanballat mocked him.
Others threatened him. False accusations were made against him. They even tried to lure him away from the work God had given him.
Nehemiah recognized the distraction and replied, "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down." (Nehemiah 6:3).
He understood that not every invitation deserves your attention and not every battle deserves your energy.
Jesus experienced this as well. ♥️
Immediately after His baptism, before beginning His public ministry, He was led into the wilderness where Satan tempted Him (Matthew 4). Every temptation was answered with God's Word.
Jesus didn't argue with the enemy, reason with him, or rely on emotions.
He simply declared, "It is written."
Peter also learned that spiritual attacks often come before significant Kingdom work. Jesus warned him, "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not" (Luke 22:31-32).
Notice that Jesus didn't promise Peter he would avoid the battle, He prayed that Peter's faith would endure through it.
One of Satan's greatest strategies is discouragement.
If he can convince you to quit, isolate yourself, doubt God's calling, or become consumed with fear, he doesn't have to stop God's work…you'll stop yourself.
That's why Paul repeatedly tells believers to stand (Ephesians 6:11,13-14).
Not run.
Not retreat.
STAND.🙌🏻🙌🏻
Sometimes victory doesn't look like dramatic miracles. Sometimes victory is simply refusing to quit.
It's opening your Bible when you don't feel like it.
It's praying when heaven feels silent. It's continuing to serve when no one notices. It's remaining faithful when the attacks haven't stopped.
God never promised His calling would be easy, but He did promise His presence. The One who called you is also the One who equips you, strengthens you, and walks beside you every step of the journey.
If you've been feeling unusually discouraged, distracted, fearful, or exhausted lately, don't automatically assume you're doing something wrong. Ask the Lord if the resistance you're experiencing is because you're walking faithfully where He has called you. Then choose to respond the biblical way…not by retreating, but by putting on the whole armor of God, remaining in His Word, praying without ceasing, and continuing the work He has entrusted to you.
The enemy may attack your assignment, but he cannot cancel God's purpose for your life!!👏🏻🔥
The enemy often attacks after seasons of obedience or spiritual growth. Jesus faced temptation immediately after His baptism (Matthew 4), and Nehemiah faced opposition as soon as the rebuilding began.
Satan's primary weapon is deception. This is why the belt of truth and the sword of the Spirit are essential pieces of God's armor (Ephesians 6).
Not every obstacle is spiritual warfare, but every believer is in a spiritual battle. Scripture teaches us to discern the enemy's schemes without living in fear (2 Corinthians 2:11).
Our greatest victory isn't avoiding the battle…“, it's remaining faithful through it. God measures faithfulness, not worldly success.
What if the resistance you're experiencing isn't evidence that you've missed God's will, but confirmation that you're faithfully walking in it?
The enemy cannot stop God's calling on your life, he can only try to convince you to stop walking in it. Stay faithful. God is greater than every fiery dart the enemy sends.
The enemy attacks where God is working, but God has already equipped you to stand.
Don't let discouragement make you abandon what God has called you to do. Keep your armor on and your eyes fixed on Christ.
🙏🏻PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for calling us according to Your purpose and for never leaving us to face spiritual battles alone. When the enemy brings discouragement, fear, doubt, or distraction, help us to recognize his schemes and respond with the truth of Your Word instead of our emotions. Strengthen us to stand firm in the calling You have given us. Keep our hearts faithful, our minds fixed on Christ, and remind us that the victory has already been won through Him. Help us to walk in obedience, trusting that You will complete the work You have begun in us. May our lives bring glory to You as we remain steadfast, relying on Your strength each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
