Our God Saves – All My Boast Is In Jesus – I Believe – Christ Be Magnified

This morning, our worship begins with an explicit invitation to the trinity. Not that we would intentionally exclude one or more persons of the three-in-one, but this morning, we don’t leave that to chance. We invite God the Father, God the Son, and Holy Spirit, each with their unique and potent benefit, to inhabit our morning offering. And so, we state our purpose. We gather to declare truth about who God is, what He has done for us, and why we promise our allegiance to Him only.

Our gaze fixed on the Almighty, we have no choice but to recognize an awareness of His perfection, and our subsequent failure to meet that standard. We look to Jesus, our substitution and our Mediator. Thankfully, we don’t have to stand on our own name, but on the name and person of Jesus, who is both one with God and one with us.

And so, in the company of one other and of the Triune God, we cull, sift and purge the altar of our hearts. We individually and collectively sing our way to surrender, laying down every rival affection, every lesser allegiance, every hidden ambition that competes for the throne rightly belonging to Christ alone. It’s in that act of surrender that we find our refuge and our home.

May it be so, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Who is the most powerful person in the room? It's not the strongest or the wealthiest—it's the one most devoted to prayer.

This last Sunday, we explored why prayer matters and discovered that God doesn't just tolerate our prayers—He desires them. The Creator of the universe wants to hear from YOU. Through prayer, we align ourselves with God's perspective, find peace in chaos, and put God to work in our lives and the lives of others. Satan fears nothing more than a praying believer.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 reminds us to "pray continually." Prayer isn't just about asking for things—it's about abiding in Christ daily, moment by moment. When God's people gather to pray together, something powerful happens. Join us Wednesday nights this summer, June 10th, June 24th, July 1st, July 15th, July 29th, and August 5th at 6:30pm for corporate prayer. Let's shake this place with the power of united prayer!

Will anyone be in heaven because you prayed? Will chains be broken because you bowed your knee? It starts today.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we never forget the sacrifice that purchased the freedoms we enjoy each day.

We are grateful. We remember. We honor.

Path & Point

Hope. Truth. Life.

If we were to ask where we could find these essential, yet elusive mysteries, the answer is clear and concise. As Christians, we know that Christ is the answer, and yet so often we live as if we don’t know that, or don’t believe it. Amid the brokenness and sin within us and around us, we find ourselves walking through life as though hope, truth, and life were mere v***rs: seen by the eye, named by the mind, yet never truly grasped by the hand.

Take hold! Christian, take hold! Christ is not a v***r but the vanguard and our victor! Yes, life will come with its blows, and often the horizon can look bleak, but our hope is not in the beauty of one sunset, but in the One who holds the sun and moon in orbit. When we surrender to the hope, truth, and life of Christ, we take hold of the everlasting. When we live in light of all that God has called us to, we find a peace that is above understanding and beyond our circumstances.

So, this morning, we sing ourselves into an embodied recognition that Christ is our Hope, our Truth, and our Life. Through the finished work of His blood on the cross, we take hold of that living, eternal hope because, in Christ, the eternal has first taken hold of us. Amen!

Wives are called to submit to their husbands "as is fitting in the Lord"—not as inferiors, but as partners walking under godly leadership. Husbands are called to love their wives "as Christ loved the church"—sacrificially, selflessly, supremely. That means guys, you're called to be the chief servant in your home, not the king of your castle.

Here's the powerful truth: when husbands lead like Jesus and wives respond with grace, marriages become living testimonies of Christ and His church. Whether you're married, single, or somewhere in between, this message challenges us all to be the men and women God created us to be. If your marriage needs hope, reach out. What it has been doesn't have to be what it will become.

Hey Antioch,

On a weekly basis, since I've had the privilege of leading with you in worship, I've taken to task the quest of always being very clear about where we are going and how we are getting there, as it pertains to our time of worship. I want us to be moved, challenged, affirmed and formed by the songs we sing. If you've been in our services regularly, you've heard me use this kind of language on a possibly annoying basis.

As a part of that weekly effort, our worship leaders are given what I've simply called the Path & Point as a tool to prepare our hearts and our minds for worship. This Path & Point is a short prayer, exhortation, or exegesis of the overall narrative arc of the lyrics we are singing for that Sunday. This short piece isn't an attempt to rehash the surface level truths that are stated within the lyrics, but an attempt to find an understanding of the journey we've taken across the entire corporate worship experience. This is hopefully (1) a helpful tool in preparing our hearts for worship on any given week, and (2) gives rise to us as a congregation to look beyond the surface of the lyrics we are singing, and begin to understand how and why they are moving, challenging, affirming and forming us.

As some of our worship team have found it helpful and advantageous to their worship experience, I am keen to share it with others who might feel the same way. So, if you check our social media (or the newsletter) in the coming weeks, you'll start to find the Path & Point available for you as you prepare your hearts for worship. I pray that through this, and through our continued corporate worship experiences, the Lord continues to draw you, move you, affirm you, challenge you, and form you.
