Summer break is officially over, and we’re ready to gather again!

Join us tomorrow at 6 PM in the Sanctuary as we get back into God’s Word, reconnect with one another, and continue growing together.

For those who missed yesterday’s sermon, Pastor Nathan walked us through Matthew 10:16–33 and gave us three reasons God gives His disciples a context of persecution:

1. Persecution is a context we are prepared for.
2. Persecution gives us a context for following Jesus.
3. Persecution gives us a context to reveal our faith.

Without persecution, our faith can remain theoretical. But when following Jesus costs us something, our faith becomes visible.

The world can only harm the body. God’s judgment is eternal.

2. He sends them out with the authority He gives them.

We are a people of the message, and Christ has entrusted His church with real authority to carry that message into the world.

If you missed yesterday’s message, Pastor Nathan continued through Matthew 9:35–38, looking at the needs disciples are called to meet.

Two Needs Disciples Meet:

1. The needs of the sinner
2. The “needs” of the Sender

Jesus saw the crowds with the heart of a Good Shepherd—with compassion. And God chooses to use His people to meet the earthly needs of those around us.

Will we have the heart of compassion to see the needs around us as well and be willing to be the ones God uses to meet them?

If you weren’t able to join us yesterday, Pastor Nathan continued our journey through Matthew 9:18–34 and challenged us to consider the kind of belief Jesus is worthy of.

He shared three kinds of belief:

1. Unbelievable belief
2. Blind belief
3. Marvelous belief

We will die in this world, but through faith in Christ, He will bring us back—not in this life, but in the next.

Jesus is worthy of our belief. The question is: Do we see His power as being for us and for our good, or do we see it as being against us?

Pastor Nathan continued our journey through the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 9:1–17, reminding us that Christ loves to solve large problems.

Three truths from Sunday’s message:

1. He focuses on our largest problem.
2. He comes to those with large problems.
3. He makes large problems seem small.

Jesus knows that our greatest need isn’t simply physical healing—it’s forgiveness. He begins where we need Him most, dealing with our sin and offering grace instead of condemnation.

Christ doesn’t wait until we have perfect motives or cleaned-up lives. He welcomes sinners, forgives them, and calls them His own.
