Brothers and sisters, I was brushing my teeth so slowly that another teeth were almost born, just so I wouldn't finish quickly and be able to show you the beautiful landscape of today's Book of Mormon! Cleaning the mouth is good, but cleaning the soul with the Word of God is even better! 😁
1 Nephi 1:1 says the following:
↙️ I, Nephi, having been born of good parents, therefore received some instruction in all the knowledge of my father; and having spent many afflictions in the course of my days, I was nevertheless highly favored by the Lord all my days; Yes, having acquired a great knowledge of the goodness and mysteries of God, I therefore make a record of my deeds during my life.
In other words 📌
I, Nephi, am the son of just and loving parents. So since I was little I received teachings and learned many good things from my father. Even going through many difficulties and afflictions in life, the Lord has always been kind to me. By knowing the love and mysteries of God, I decided to write everything I lived, so that others can also learn.
📌 Imagine a girl who grew up in a house where parents teach to pray, to be honest and to help others. Even when she gets sick, loses something important or is afraid of a school test, she remembers her parents' teachings and feels peace when praying. In the end, she realizes that God was with her in everything. So she decides to write in a diary: “Look how God helped me today”. So when brothers or friends read, they will also have faith. Nephi did it. He wrote his diary to show: "Even with afflictions, God is good and takes care of us if we trust him."
• Dear brother, dear sister, just as Nephi wrote to strengthen his and others' faith, the Book of Mormon is full of stories like this. He teaches us about the goodness of God and helps us find peace in our afflictions.
