Take a trip through the Cemetery sometime, look at the dates and see that most get 70-80 years, take your children with you when they are old enough to understand. God does not lie, but only tells the truth.

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Great advice for those who are called to preach the gospel. Paul’s goal is to get himself out of the way, hence being a castaway.

I’ve been thinking lately when I witness small acts of kindness or peoples actions of love towards each other, why does it get to me more and more, more so now than it has ever been before? As we get older, (at least we should anyway) realize that joy, real joy, rejoicing, is in Love, the most precious gift there is. Jesus said Love one another, he also rejoiced in this. Time is to short not to rejoice in acts of loving kindness. It’s one of the best parts of life.
John 13:35

Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness is in the Declaration of Independence wrote by Thomas Jefferson. (They got it!)

We all have the right to pursue happiness, I believe we are taught in our early lives by our parents about happiness, or even maybe what unhappiness truly is.
Unhappy people usually have one common trait, that is to make happy people, unhappy. Misery loves company as the old saying goes. Unhappy people have nothing to teach. Unhappy Christian’s are definitely sending out the wrong message.And yes, phony happiness is unhappiness in camouflage.
So what do we do if we are pursuing happiness and unhappy people want to invade our lives? We handle the matter wisely as the scripture says. We love, we forgive BUT we set boundaries for ourselves with them so that our own happiness doesn’t get invaded. We are in control of our happiness,not them. Trust the Lord, this is acceptable with him. Not all men of the Bible could walk together, some had to go their own way.
Some years ago when Jodie and I lived in a little house in Cridersville a friend from high school saw me outside and started to talk to me, long story short, he expressed very lightly that he would have to have more and live better than I was, actually it didn’t bother me, I felt sorry for him for acting that way, I was a young preacher at the time, and about 3 or 4 people had gotten saved, I couldn’t be anymore happier. Serving God is our happiness, if you say you serve God and aren’t happy, well, you aren’t doing it right then.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Here he says fight the good fight of faith and don’t forget we have Heaven as our home, lay hold on that as your encouragement. Also we are getting a new body, and the fight will be over, that’s the crown of righteousness, everyone that’s loves his appearing will get one. Amazing and exciting. When he appears we shall be like him.
Paul was trying to lift up his brothers with these words, they have also lifted me up.
