Jillian’s Café is a café/coffee house located in Wesley Hall at the Conshohocken United Methodist Church. The address is 20 W. 6th Avenue, Conshohocken, PA 19428. The café was built in memory of Jillian Hope Patterson by her parents Pat and Dave and family and friends. Jillian, a gentle young lady with Down Syndrome, touched many lives with her warmth, sensitivity and kindness. She was an active m
ember of the special needs community in Conshohocken. She participated in the Montgomery County Special Olympics program as an athlete in swimming, basketball, power lifting and bowling. Jillian was an actress and member of Harmony Theater, a local theater group for special needs adults. She was also a member of Adults With Developmental Disabilities (ADD), an organization which focuses on building self-reliance and independence. Jillian worked at the Lower Merion Center for Creative Arts. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, and music of every genre. She loved to dance! With her friends, she was an avid movie goer and loved theatrical performances. Because she loved sharing coffee and fellowship with her friends, the idea to launch a café/coffee house for the community in her memory was born. It is our hope that this café will honor her memory and allow her vivacious spirit to live on through its activities and events. We are looking forward to “Jillian’s Café” becoming a hub of activities for all of the Conshohocken community for many years ahead.
