Tonight at St. Matthew Parish, what began as our celebration of the Ascension of the Lord became something unexpectedly beautiful.

Due to the power outages throughout the area, our evening turned into a candlelight vigil — the church softly illuminated by candlelight as we gathered together in prayer and faith. In the midst of darkness, Christ’s light still shined brightly among us.

Thank you to everyone who stayed with us this evening, prayed with us, and embraced the moment with such reverence, patience, and grace. Your presence reminded us that the Church is not built by lights or electricity, but by the faithful gathered together in Christ.

“As He blessed them, He parted from them and was taken up to heaven.” — Luke 24:51

Thank you for making this Ascension celebration such a memorable and faith-filled evening. ✨🕯️🙏

🌸✝️ He is Risen! Alleluia! ✝️🌸

Today we rejoice in the glory of the Resurrection.
Christ has conquered sin and death, and through Him, we are given new life.

As we gather before the altar, surrounded by the beauty of Easter, we are reminded that hope is alive, mercy is renewed, and joy is ours through Christ.

May this Easter fill your hearts with peace, your homes with love, and your lives with the light of the Risen Lord.

✨ “He is not here; He has risen.” (Luke 24:6)

Happy Easter from all of us at St. Matthew Parish! 💛

✨ Enter Into the Sacred Triduum ✨

Join us for the most sacred days of our Church year—the Triduum—as we walk with Christ from the table, to the Cross, to the empty tomb.

🕊️ Holy Thursday – The Lord’s Supper
🕖 Mass at 7:00 p.m.
We celebrate the Last Supper, where Jesus gives us the gift of the Eucharist and the priesthood. The washing of the feet reminds us of our call to serve with humility and love.

✝️ Good Friday – The Passion of the Lord
🕒 Service at 3:00 p.m.
A solemn day as we reflect on Christ’s suffering and death. We hear the Passion, venerate the Cross, and receive Holy Communion.

🌟 The Easter Vigil – The Holy Night
🕖 Vigil at 7:00 p.m.
The most beautiful liturgy of the year begins in darkness and bursts into light as we proclaim the Resurrection. Through Scripture, Baptism, and the Eucharist, we rejoice:
Christ is Risen! Alleluia!

🙏 Come and journey with us through these sacred days.
