First Lutheran Church was established on November 9, 1866. The original building was constructed in 1877. Then sometime before 1952 a small basement was dug to hold a coal furnace and coal bin. In 1952 the current nave and entrance were added. In 1958 a 15 X 30 foot addition was added to the front of the church and a full basement was added under the church. In 1976 an enlarged narthex, 4 class rooms, a pastor’s study, a library/choir room, kitchen and storage facilities were built and dedicated in 1977 or 100 years after the original building was constructed. In 1996 major renovations were made to the sanctuary and basement and new paint and carpet were added and the kitchen remodeled. WHO WE ARE
