Sometimes we love people so deeply that we become frustrated when they refuse to change. We see their potential. We see what they could become. We pray for them, encourage them, correct them, and sometimes even exhaust ourselves trying to get them to become who we believe God created them to be.

But there comes a point when we have to surrender what was never ours to control.

You can desire their change without taking responsibility for their transformation.

Only God can truly change a heart. Your responsibility is to obey God, maintain your boundaries, pray, and allow Him to work in the areas you cannot reach.

Stop carrying the burden of changing someone else.

You can love them.
You can pray for them.
You can speak truth to them.
You can encourage them.
You can desire better for them.

But you cannot make them change.

And sometimes faith looks like releasing them into God's hands instead of continuing to fight a battle God never asked you to fight.

Let God be God in their life—and let Him be God in yours.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." Ezekial 36:26 NIV

Prayer:
Lord, help me release the people and situations I cannot change. Give me wisdom to know when to speak, when to pray, when to set boundaries, and when to step back. Help me trust that You can reach places in their hearts that I never could. Give me peace when I cannot fix what I see. I surrender them to You, and I surrender my need to control the outcome. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Reflection:
Who have you been trying to change that God may be asking you to release instead?

Today’s Reminder:
I can love people without trying to control them.
I can pray without carrying the burden.
I can release what I cannot change and trust God with the outcome.
