EVERYTHING BELONGS TO GOD
📖 1 Chronicles 29:11–12
These verses are part of king David's prayer of praise and thanksgiving before all Israel. As he looked at the wealth, resources, and offerings brought for the building of the temple, David recognized a profound truth: everything belongs to God.
“Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty…” Every attribute of greatness ultimately belongs to God. Human achievements may impress for a season, but all power, all glory, and every victory have their source in Him.
“For all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine.” God is not the owner of only a part of creation—He owns it all. The world, our possessions, our abilities, our time, and even our very lives belong to Him.
“Thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” God reigns over every nation, every ruler, and every circumstance. Nothing is outside His authority. When life feels uncertain, this truth brings great comfort: God is still on the throne.
Then David declares, “Both riches and honour come of thee.” Whatever blessings we have are gifts from God's gracious hand. This truth keeps us humble and thankful, reminding us not to trust in our own strength or achievements.
“And in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.” God is the One who lifts up, equips, and strengthens His people. When we feel weak, His strength is available. When we need wisdom or help, we can confidently look to Him.
This passage reminds us:
◇ God alone deserves all glory and praise
◇ Everything we have ultimately belongs to Him
◇ God reigns over every circumstance
◇ Every blessing and every strength comes from His hand
◇ Humility and gratitude should mark our lives
Nothing you possess is truly your own—it has been entrusted to you by God. So honor Him with your gifts. Trust Him with your future. And give Him the glory that belongs to His name. Because all greatness, power, and victory belong to the Lord.

Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that everything I have and everything I am comes from you. Thank you for your power, provision, and faithfulness. Help me to live with humility, gratitude, and complete trust in your sovereignty. Give me strength for every challenge and teach me to use all you have entrusted to me for your glory. May my life continually exalt you as Lord over all. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen.
