Another exciting Sunday at Tree of Life!
We welcomed back Pastor Ryan Dockery, our former Youth Dude, to celebrate the double baptism of Braxton and Lochlyn, whose mother Jessika was one of Ryan's first youth group members.
Then we had a blessing for a dozen campers as we send them off for a week of faith, fun, and crazy awesome times at Lutherhill. Two of q are first-time campers and received special blankets as a reminder that wherever they go, they are wrapped up in the love of God, their family, and their church. They'll also be meeting up with a couple Tree of Life "youth campers turned adult camp employees" helping our campers feel at home even when they are gone.
And in one more of those full-circle moments, Pastor Chris officially handed off his Camp Medic duties to his son Ben, who will now continue that ministry of care for campers.
From the waters of baptism to the adventure of camp and beyond, the church walks alongside people through every season of life. We promise at baptism to help our children grow in the Christian faith and life, nurture them in prayer, and help them learn and trust God. That promise doesn't stop at the end of the service or really even once they have grown. It continues through childhood, youth, adulthood, and every stage in between as we encourage one another, grow together, and share in the community of Christ.
Today was a wonderful reminder that God is still writing stories among us, and we are grateful to be part of them together.
