For those that are serving as Canopy Bearers for the Eucharistic Procession coming up:

Our Procession Practice is this Monday - 6/8/2026 - at 6 pm in the Narthex. There will have a general practice and then break into small groups. Please wear your dark blue Eucharistic Procession T-shirt if you have one, or any dark blue shirt if you don't.

Sacred Heart's 5th Annual Eucharistic Procession will be held on Saturday, June 13th after the 8 am Mass. This year will be especially important, as the USCCB is dedicating the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11th and our 40 Hours Devotion includes our Consecration and ends with our Eucharistic Procession

Brothers,

There will be a Eucharistic Procession from Sacred Heart Church following the 8:00 AM Mass on Saturday, June 13th. We have been asked to participate once again as Canopy Bearers. Several of our Brother Knights have been involved with this event and it is requested that we have at least 8 Knights in the procession.

If you can attend, please let me know by the end of this week, and please wear your blue Knight shirt. You can email Barry @ [email protected]

Brothers- our 4th Degree Assembly #1759 is sponsoring a special night of entertainment at the Dosey Doe Big Barn in celebration of our nation's 250th anniversary. ALL Knights (and their families) are welcome and encouraged to attend. It is also open to invited U.S. veterans (please no large veteran groups without our knowledge and approval).

The night will start with a live podcast interview of an Army Major whose dad was the last soldier killed in Vietnam. He also was an organizing partner in creating Houston's Camp Hope - part of the national PTSD Foundation.

The evening will continue with a country/patriotic concert featuring The Cool Water Band.

The evening will cost $25.00 per person if pre-paid ($30.00 per person at the door). Good Dosey Doe food and drink will be available to purchase, as well, so come hungry for dinner or just an appetizer and drinks.

Follow the directions on the flyer below to pre-purchase your tickets via Zelle or Venmo. Make sure you indicate "America 250 and your name" so we know who has paid. We will also accept cash and checks at the meetings. If you mail me a check, make sure it gets to me well before the event and indicate "America 250" in the memo.

Lastly, there is an America 250 4th Degree T-shirt offer also coming out to you soon. It is also open to all Knights and also $25.00. Do not confuse that with the event at Dosey Doe. It is not related. If you want a shirt, you need to order that separately. You can certainly wear the t-shirt to the event at Dosey Doe, but that is the only connection.

Brothers- here's what's coming up in Council 6456:

Monday, June 1st - Monthly Council Rosary in the back of Sacred Heart Church- 6:30 pm

Thursday, June 4th - Council Business mtg. @ the 1488 Hall- 6:30 pm.

Thursday, June 11th - General Meeting @ the 1488 Hall- 6:30 pm Dinner, 7:30 pm Meeting Starts.

Saturday, June 13th- Sacred Heart's 5th Annual Eucharistic Procession is to be held following the 8 am Mass. The Knights of Council 6456 will assume our traditional role as Canopy Bearers for this event. We need 8 Canopy Bearers to cover for the entire Procession. Saturday, July 4th- we will be cooking and serving hot dogs at the VFW July 4th celebration over at the VFW hall. More info to follow.

Saturday, August 8th - Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament at the 1488 Hall- Come join us for dinner and poker at 7pm. $50 donation buy-in. Sign up early for extra chips. All proceeds go to our scholarship program.

We need help setting up the Hall starting @ 5:00 pm, and help serving dinner and tending bar thereafter. Clean-up starts around 9:30 ish, so please help out any amount of time that you can. Brothers- The Archdiocesan Houston Vocations group has scheduled an Andrew Dinner here at Sacred Heart at 6pm on Friday, 6/19. An Andrew Dinner is an evening of prayer, group sharing, and dinner with Fr. Richard McNeillie, Houston Vocations Director. It is for young men ages 14 - 18. It's essentially an informational dinner and evening for those who could be interested in discerning the priesthood. It is optional for parents to attend. The group of seminarians staying @ Sacred Heart for the month of June will also be there. If anyone knows of a young man 14-18 who may be interested, here is the link to sign up:

Attention all Brother Knights who plan to participate in the upcoming Eucharistic Procession as Canopy Bearers- there will be a run through/practice for the Procession on Monday, June 8th from 6 - 7:30 pm.
