It is not too late to sign up for Rainforest Falls VBS June 22-25. VBS runs from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Registration for volunteers and campers is open through June 7th. Go here to register: https://vbspro.events/p/concordiaconover (Cut and paste this link in your browser).

We need volunteers to lead crews and run stations. Anyone 6th grade and older is welcome to lead a crew or run a station. Please contact the church office at 828.464.3324 or [email protected].

We are excited to share that, beginning in July, Concordia Lutheran Church will move to a weekly email newsletter format. We have heard the feedback that more communication is needed between the church and you. This change will help us communicate more consistently, share ministry updates more quickly, and keep everyone informed about the many ways God is at work in our church and school community.

Our weekly newsletter will include upcoming events, ministry highlights, important announcements, opportunities to serve, and encouragement for your faith throughout the week. We will continue to send our Concordia Connection on Fridays for worship news and events. Special emails will also go out when there are special events or congregational updates.

If you don't already get our emails, you can sign up to receive the newsletter directly in your inbox by visiting www.concordianc.org.

We also understand that digital communication is not the best option for everyone. Printed copies of the newsletter will still be available for anyone who would like one, and the church office can print them on demand.

The boys placed flags at veterans’ gravesites yesterday at Conover and Eastview cemeteries in preparation for Memorial Day.

We consider it an honor to give back to those whose sacrifices have provided us with so much. The boys had to work extra hard this year, as the drought conditions made it feel like they were planting flags into concrete.

We made the event a little more interactive this year. Gift certificates were provided in several categories, including oldest birthdate, longest lifespan, and highest rank found on a grave marker.

A special thank-you to Naomi Smith at Drum Funeral Home for providing the flags and gift cards. We also want to thank Amalfi Pizza for providing the boys with pizza afterward.
