🏃 5K Route: Updated for 2026! Starts and finishes at the Frank & Sue Jones Amphitheatre in Downtown Newton, taking you through a scenic loop along East C Street, South College Avenue, and North Ashe Avenue.

🚶 1-Mile Walk: Unchanged! The classic, family- and pet-friendly 1-mile route remains exactly the same.

📍 Start/Finish Line: Frank & Sue Jones Amphitheatre (Downtown Newton)

📅 Date: Sunday, October 4, 2026

Hosted by Mark and Charles, two integral parts of our OBC family, Grounded offers biblical insight, honest conversation, and practical encouragement for parents and families. 🎒✏️ BACK TO SCHOOL! 🍎📚

As a new school year officially begins, we’re covering our OBC students, teachers, faculty & staff in prayer! 🙏💙

Our OBC family is represented in 20+ schools across our county and surrounding counties — what an incredible opportunity to carry the love of Jesus into classrooms, hallways, offices, cafeterias, buses, ball fields and beyond!

We’re praying for a safe, joy-filled year and that every student and educator would shine the light of Jesus wherever God has placed them. ✨ Thank you to Pastor Byron and others who participated in the Catawba County school prayer time yesterday afternoon!

☀️ Sundays are special at OBC — and we can’t wait to worship with you tomorrow!

What a weekend it has already been! 💙 Our Dad’s Camp families have spent time together having fun, making memories, and—most importantly—worshipping, growing, and being discipled in God’s Word. We’re so thankful for every dad investing intentionally in the lives of their children!

Tomorrow, we’ll gather again as a church family as Pastor Joel continues his current sermon series, and we’ll have a special time of prayer over our Panama Mission Team as they prepare to leave Monday. 🇵🇦🙏

There is so much to celebrate and so much God is doing in and through OBC. Come be a part of it!

🌿🐒 Rainforest Falls VBS – Night 3 Recap! 🦋🌧️

Tonight, our explorers learned that God is our Safe Place. No matter what we face, we can trust Him to be our refuge, comfort, and strength.

This week, we’ve been exploring the Nature of God together:
🌎 Day 1: God is our Creator
👀 Day 2: God Knows Everything
🛡️ Day 3: God is our Safe Place

The rainforest was especially wild tonight as we celebrated Crazy Hair & Crazy Hat Night! From colorful creations to outrageous hats, our kids and volunteers brought plenty of laughs and personality to an already exciting evening! 🤪🎩🎀

We also continue to be blown away by the generosity of our VBS families and church family.
🌍 Missions Update: Tonight’s offering totaled $866.61, bringing our grand total to $3,228.96 toward our $5,000 missions goal!
That means we’re only $1,771.04 away from our goal! The kids are determined, and Miss Abby is starting to be pretty certain that slime, ice buckets, and other surprises are in her near future! 😂

Thank you to every volunteer, parent, and child who is helping make this week so special. God is moving in incredible ways, and we can’t wait to see what He has in store for the rest of our rainforest adventure!
