“Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so!” That is a line from a Sunday School chorus I learned many years ago. It was true the first time I heard it, and it’s true today. How do you know God loves you – “for the Bible tells you so!” Another wonderful truth to know is how much He loves you and me… there’s another chorus that tells us that, and it is so very popular in Sunday Schools too, “Oh, how He loves you and me, Oh, how He loves you and me, Oh, how He loves you; Oh how He loves me; Oh how He loves you and me.” (The 2nd verse tells us more) “Jesus to Calvary did go, His love for sinners to show. What He did there, brought hope from despair, Oh how He loves you’ Oh how He loves me; Oh, how He loves you and me.” It’s wonderful to know that God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth to rescue me from my sin-scarred life; Jesus went to the cross to carry my sin there and pay my sin debt in full. From the grave He arose, victor over sin and death. He paid it all. Do you know He loves you, died for you on the cross, and rose again from the grave? That’s the message of Easter. Everyday is Easter for all mankind; come to Him, confess you are a born sinner and ask Him to forgive you. He is waiting to forgive you and grant you everlasting life; do it today; do it now!
