I woke up two days ago and my elbow hurt. That’s not unusual. I was an athlete at one time, and woke up many mornings with the pains of the day before, but this pain has lingered, and I didn’t injure it. I figure it’s arthritis to match the pain in my back, and I have let myself start to wonder if this is my new normal. Have you ever had that thought about your situation? Whatever your pain or problem is, do you wonder if it will be like this forever? I’m prone to do that and I figure a lot of people are like that. We wonder if we’ll ever find a mate, that perfect job, be able to afford a new car, have enough money to retire, defeat cancer, or lose weight. We start to fear that things won’t get better. The things we worry about and concentrate so much upon are the things that are emergent in our lives. They are not always the things we should think about. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, knew His entire life that He was to die for our sins, yet He lived a life of joy and wonder. He concentrated on the things of God and the fact that our lives are eternal, not just the fleeting moments we spend here in our rapidly deteriorating bodies.

Please read 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

We have forever to think about!

Try your best to think about how perfect you will be some day, and think about the power of the one that made you.

Pray today that you allow God’s power to heal you of your momentary problems. Pray that you have the strength to make it through moments that elicit fear, and pray that when you’re reminded of how problematic our world is right now, you remember your future will be perfect!

Live, learn and love!
