Wednesday with Wendy....

Scripture: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” — John 15:12

Jesus didn’t simply suggest that we love one another—He commanded it. But He also gave us the perfect example of what that love looks like. Christ’s love is patient, forgiving, sacrificial, and unconditional. He loved people when they were difficult, broken, and even when they failed Him.

In our daily lives, loving others isn’t always easy. We encounter disagreements, disappointments, and people who test our patience. Yet Jesus calls us to love anyway—not with our own strength, but with His love flowing through us.

Today, ask God to help you love others as Jesus loves you. A kind word, a forgiving heart, a helping hand, or a listening ear can reflect Christ’s love to someone who needs it.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for loving me so completely. Help me to love others as You have loved me. Fill my heart with kindness, patience, and grace so that others may see Your love through me. Amen. ❤️

Psalm 27:14
“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” (KJV)

Waiting is rarely easy. We live in a world that encourages instant results, quick answers, and immediate solutions. Yet throughout Scripture, God often works in the waiting. Psalm 27 was written by David during difficult times. He faced enemies, uncertainty, and fear, but his conclusion was not to panic or take matters into his own hands. Instead, he encouraged himself—and us—to wait on the Lord.

Notice that waiting is not passive. David says, “Be of good courage.” Waiting on God requires faith. It means trusting that God is working even when we cannot see it. It means believing His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t match our own.

The promise attached to this verse is beautiful: “He shall strengthen thine heart.” When we wait on the Lord, He doesn’t leave us alone in our circumstances. He gives us the strength we need for each day. He renews our hope, calms our fears, and reminds us that He is in control.

Perhaps today you are waiting—for an answer to prayer, a healing, a new opportunity, or direction for the future. Take heart. God has not forgotten you. What feels like a delay may actually be God preparing something greater than you can imagine.

As a pastor’s wife, I’ve learned that some of God’s greatest lessons come during seasons of waiting. Those moments teach us dependence, patience, and trust. While we wait, we can continue praying, serving, and believing that God is faithful.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust You in the waiting. Give me courage when I feel discouraged and strengthen my heart when I grow weary. Remind me that Your timing is always perfect and that You are working even when I cannot see it. Amen. ❤️
