Green Hill United Methodist Church

Today after church, a meeting of the Green Hill congregation was held to discuss the future of the church. Due to the upcoming split in the Methodist church, the dwindling of our membership and financial hardships we've encountered the last few years, among other things, the decision was made to cease services and close the Church. This was a hard decision to make and it was not arrived at easily. Our hearts are heavy and broken over it.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we report the going home of Pastor Donald Sweimler. He was called home to be with the Lord yesterday afternoon. Pastor Don as we all knew him was a great servant of God and a good friend to everyone. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Please pray for Don's wife and family as they go forward. Funeral details have yet to be released at this time.

The Green Hill youth group went mini golfing in strasburg this morning and took a break at the strasburg creamery for ice cream afterwards. Everyone had a good time.

With pastor Don taking a couple weeks off, our good friend Gabby Romano ( right) brought the word to Green Hill. He even dressed in cowboy boots and blue jeans to blend in with the leadership this morning. Thank you Gabby!
